My first quilt...

When I was first bitten by the quilting bug, I wanted to design a quilt for my daughter.

My daughter, Erin, loves cats. Especially her cat, Fluffy.  And she loves to read. She especially loves to read about cats. Her love is what inspired me to make my first quilt - the Krazy Katz quilt.

I designed the quilt to have a bookshelf surrounded by cats - featuring Erin's real life cat - Fluffy. He is the orange and white one. Erin saw my sketch and drew a little mouse on the shelf next to the sleepy kitty.

This was my first attempt at making a full size quilt.  And I've been hooked ever since!

 The finished quilt...

 My daughter, Erin...

 The real Fluffy...

 Fluffy on the quilt...

 Sleepy kitty...

 The mouse designed by Erin...

 And the playful tiger kitty...

Tell me about your first quilt.  What inspired you to get started?

I love your quilt and the story behind it! It is adorable, as is your daughter and her kitty!
