Let's Bee Social #127

Welcome to the Let's Bee Social!
Thank you all for joining me again this week!

I have been working on a few more mini mini quilts.

And I finished the My Pet Hamster mini quilt.

The mini quilt is made from 4 of the small blocks. I quilted it using that same cool green variegated thread, to match the big My Pet Hamster quilt.

My mind must have been somewhere else when I started applying the binding for the mini. I attached it to the front by accident. Then had to ditch stitch along the edge to catch the binding folded over to the back. You can see the difference in the width of the binding on the front compared to the wee little mini mini quilt, which had the binding applied in the usual fashion by sewing it onto the back first.

What a face! I love those cheeks!

My Pet Hamster and the Raccoon mini mini below both finished at 6" square.

Here is a bigger mini made from a test block for the Black Birds quilt.
This one finished at 8" square. I love that sunny yellow for the binding!

Now I have to come up with a plan to use these bonus HST (Half Square Triangles) that were cut offs from making the Raccoon quilt. Maybe cushions???

After that????
I have plans but am waiting on fabric.
And a better iron.

I went to visit my mom and she sent her wee little spare iron home with me. Before that I was finger pressing the seams open on my little mini mini quilts. Because I just could not stop.

The weather here is simply beautiful.
I love this time of year.
HAPPY JUNE 1st!

It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!

I'm so glad to hear you are having wonderful weather. I got to leave my house open all day today for the first time and I am excited for the summer ahead! Mini quilts really can show off the size difference of a binding, can't they?

Maybe pincushions? Maybe mini mini triangle quilts? It's a lot of fun to see all the mini mini you make. What a good idea to include your bird in your mini animal group!

That racoon is adorable, my DH had them as pets when he was a kid. So he has a fondness for them. We have ones come through our yard in the evening and bring out the babies, so special to see them.

Hi there! Your works are so productive! So creative! Many thanks for your contribution! Bear in mind that making friends online, you need to be very attentive. In my opinion, you should not make friends with someone strange you don't know personally. Your mini quilts are quite simply the bomb!!!

I can see why your mini minis are so addictive. They are all so cute! The genius of your patterns is that you capture the personalities with deceptively simple lines. And your bindings are spot-on whether from the back or the front!

Connie Kresin Campbell said...

Your animals blocks are always the cutest Lorna and they make the neatest little mini minis!

Jennifer Fulton Inquiring Quilter said...

Ha! I've done that before--sewn the binding on the back and had to deal with it. But mine wasn't a mini, it was a Twin/Full! Oh well. Where do our minds go when we are caressing beautiful fabric and dreaming of the next project?

Those hamster cheeks are so cute you just wanna pinch 'em!

Lovely mini animals, so cute! I never completely machine bind my quilts (machine to the front, hand sew to the back), and I must say I like the narrow binding you did on the mini quilt, as opposed to the wider one on the minimini. But I'll have to try attaching mine by machine, it would save my fingers probably!
