GREAT BIG giveaway - Day 4


Welcome to the fourth day in the week of the GREAT BIG giveaway!!!

Today's giveaway consists of a fat quarter bundle and scraps of Fusion Illusion by Blank Quilting, a fat quarter bundle (some have been cut into) of For You by Moda, three spools of Aurifil and the Farm Girl Vintage book by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet.

I have just gotten out of my solids craze. I still am doing a few things with solids but I am now incorporating many more prints once again. I truly find that my taste in fabrics is ever changing and evolving. If I must give an answer than I'd pick prints at this time.

I like prints, and find very few solids in my fabric stash or yardages. Mostly batiks are what I use and they have such beautiful designs.

Solids are a staple part of my stash but I also like to have a range of small print & tone on tone fabrics. I mostly foundation paper piece & EPP but larger prints can have their place

Oh, how I'd love to play with the fabrics in today's prize package...what gorgeous-ness!
My eye always goes toward prints, but I know I need to balance them out with solids, so I enjoy both.

I used to sew with a lot of solids - then prints became my new 'solid' - for front and back of my quilts. Now I'm moving into using a bit of both. Love the new batik type solids - like in your bear quilt. Thank you for another great giveaway chance!

Prints are more scrappy, but I use solids as well. I am into 30s, and solids go into it, happy bright quilts are more gifted quilts.

I love prints because they usually include other colors I can bring into my quilt. However, I don't think I have ever made a quilt that didn't include solids or at least a print that "read" solid! Thanks for the chance to win this incredible giveaway!

I don't use a lot of solids, but when I get them I tend to use them right away, so they don't stay in my stash long. I use prints as my jumping off point for colors.

I love the look of solids but I also usually buy fat quarters and the place I buy them doesn't sell solids that way. So I tend to buy solids for specific projects rather than just stash enhancement.

I use and buy mostly prints. I like to do all my own quilting so prints are more forgiving if I have a wobbly area of quilting. I do have on my bucket list to make an all solid quilt. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.

It depends on the pattern. There are some Modern patterns that scream solid, and then there are patterns where anything goes.

I prefer prints, and use solids for my backgrounds. My stash isn't quite deep enough (yet!) to cover the background fabrics so I usually am purchasing yardage.

I use both but I like the clean uncluttered look of a quilt made with solids. I do my borders in solids because to me a printed border fights with the pattern of the quilt.

I use both solids and prints, but prefer prints. I'd choose a tone on tone "print" before a solid in most cases because I like the visual texture better. However, I have made some projects in solids only.
