Kangaroo & Joey2

Kangaroo & Joey2 is my first finish for 2020!!!

Have you ever seen a kangaroo in the show?

Most of the fabrics used to make these adorable mama and baby kangaroos were from the Sun Print 2019 collection by Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics

And then when it came time for the backing....
I switched it up!

I normally look for a full width print and then add a half width piece of something to make backings larger than a baby quilt. But when I came across this half width piece of large floral print, I quickly dove into my stash of Kona Solids, looking for enough full width solids to create an ombre back.

I quilted using my usual wavy lines from edge to edge using my walking foot on my domestic.

And finished the binding by machine.

"Kangaroo & Joey2" finished at 50" square.

If you are interested in making your own, you can find the Kangaroo & Joey2 pattern here.

Thanks to the generous nature of quilters and crafters from all over the world, my fund raising efforts have been revived!!! I am continuing to keep track of the sale of all the Koala Love, Koala Mama & Baby and Kangaroo & Joey2 patterns sold so far this month, and will be donating 50% of the proceeds of those sales to the NSW Koala Hospital.

Did you know that the Kangaroo & Joey2 blocks finish at 12" square?
The Koala Love and Koala Mama & Baby blocks also finish at 12" square.

You can combine the Koalas and Kangaroos into one quilt!

Keep On Quilting On!
