Tea for Two

Meet my mom...

My mom turned 80 in May.

This COVID thing is driving her CRAZY.

So for the past two weeks, I have been driving her to the Erie Drive In for her favourite pulled pork on a bun. And of course, the soft serve ice cream!!!

These are are lunch dates.

Tea for Two.

My mom has encouraged me throughout my life in everything I have ever done.

She is truly an amazing woman and I am so grateful to have been blessed with her as my mom.

You can read all about my mom's mission to make pillow case dresses for children in Africa here.

During her dress making days, she make over 1500 dresses in total.

Other NEWS...

What I wish I could afford to build in my sewing room....

What I am grateful to be able to build with existing melamine pot and pan drawers from the basement...

Along with a couple of brand new cube storage units and baskets.

I still have some decorating to do, but I am happy with how things are coming along!

Meanwhile, I am still getting grief from my children for scoping out "junk" on the internet...

I scored this KING size bed frame - head and footboard - for FREE!

My daughter thought it was ugly until I showed her this...

When it comes to junk, I believe you have to keep an open mind.

I, for example, do not like tea.

But I am in the market to purchase teapots NOW!!!

Beach Time

Which way to the BEACH?

Good old SUMMER TIME!

These seagulls are easily my favourite block in this quilt.

But the crabby crab is pretty cute too!

This school themed text fabric, printed on Spoonflower, was used to make the white cap waves.

The wavy line quilting makes it look like the water is moving!!!

The backing is this Kingfisher print from the By The Pond collection by Debbie Shore.

Blue variegated thread on top and in the bobbin to match.

Back in my sewing room!

I have been doing some rearranging in here....

More to come soon!

This is the first red binding I have ever applied.

And I LOVE IT!!!

The "BEACH" quilt finished at 62" x 74"

You wanna head to the BEACH too?

What do I do, when I am not dreaming up new quilt ideas?

I go on Facebook...

But in the back of my mind is... THIS.

I spied an ad on Facebook Marketplace for a brand new bench for only $50

I did a quick search on Walmart for their current price.

WHAT!!!!!!

I offered the woman $40 and that brand new, never been outta the box, bench was MINE!!!

Painted her up in my garage.

And Voila!!!

My daughter put in a request...

So guess what's up next???
