Grumpy Cat & Pumpkin baby quilt

This was only in the unquilted pile for a short while.
And now I am proud to announce a Grumpy Cat finish!

I quilted this up quick with my usual wavy lines using my walking foot. I chose a soft grey thread for on top and a weird beige for the bobbin - both to blend in with the backgrounds.

Yet another fresh dusting of snow made for the perfect backdrop.
But somehow makes this quilt a little less spooky.

"Grumpy Cat & Pumpkin" finished at 40" x 45".

If you are interested in making your own Grumpy Cat, you can find the Grumpy Cat BLOCK pattern here, AND you can find the Grumpy Cat FULL HALLOWEEN pattern here.

Life in the POND

This was a fast and fun finish!

Say hello to my little froggy!

I had the most fun choosing fabrics for this quilt. I love the way these dots all play off of each other.

Another fresh dusting of snow made for the perfect backdrop.

The backing was pieced using a yard of Sticks & Twine by Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics.

And I had an extra lily pad, so I decided to piece it into the backing.

I quilted using my usual wavy lines from edge to edge using my walking foot on my domestic.

And finished the binding by machine.

"Life in the POND" finished at 40" x 45".

Quilt Finished Sizes are 40" x 45" or 80" x 90"
Includes 4 different quilt options, as shown above.

If you are interested in making your own, you can find the Life in the POND pattern here.

Good Old Hockey Game

She Shoots!!! She Scores!!!!

And the crowd goes wild! Yes, folks!

That's another finish for 2020!!!

The photo shoot didn't go too bad! A fresh dusting of snow is always welcomed as a backdrop.

At times the wind actually cooperated nicely!

By far, my most favourite parts of the quilt are the 3D Gloves and Hockey Stick.

Complete with Hockey Tape!!!

You can personalize this pattern by choosing whatever two digit number you want on the Jersey.

This was my last piece of wideback hanging out in my stash. I do LOVE how well it matches with the black and white neutral feel from the front of the quilt, but also brightens things up - crisp and white, adorned with touching, meaningful text. The backing is from the URBANcollage collection by Urban Chiks for Moda.

I quilted using my usual wavy lines from edge to edge using my walking foot on my domestic.

And finished the binding by machine.

This quilt was made specifically for a very special guy. Brett, my daughter's boyfriend of many years now, an avid hockey player and sports fan. Although he has moved on and has a new number now, I personalized the jersey with 07, as this was his number when he was the captain of his hometown team during high school.

"Good Old Hockey Game" finished at 75" x 95".

The quilt center is 57" x 77", using 9" borders.

If you are interested in making your own, you can find the Good Old Hockey Game pattern here.

Sunday Stash & My Sewing Room

(ABOVE) This was my view just before Christmas.

(BELOW) This was my view in the morning last Tuesday.

Welcome to My Sewing Room!

Here is my finished Kangaroo & Joey2 quilt hanging out.

To the left is my grandmother's china cupboard.

Filled with old photos and treasured trinkets.

One such treasure recently resurfaced.

My Thumbelina dolly that has been with me for 50 years.

I just made her a new bracelet and necklace at Christmas time!

My ironing station is in the far left corner.

And the cutting table runs along the length of the back wall.

To the left is my fabric storage.

MOST ALL of my fabric now fits in these 9 totes.

The pattern for Life in the POND is ready for testing.

But I also wrote the Good Old Hockey Game pattern and want to test it first!

Just wanted to let you know that things have been going SUPER FANTASTIC in my life!

I am regularly getting spoiled with flowers like these.

From my guy Brett.

There are many of you who have been friends of mine for so long now....
You have sent me so many encouraging comments and emails....

I wanted you to know....

I am doing GREAT! Thank you!

Sending a SHOUT OUT!!!

To Linda of Quilting Biker for coming over for a personal visit,
along with Michaelanne of Stache Fabrics & Notions in London, Ontario.

These two ladies came to pick up some sample quilts to hang in Stache Fabrics.

And since they were also ordering some printed patterns to sell in the shop....

I put them to work! Lol!
