This past weekend I made some more Dog Gone Cute blocks.
Just like with my Black Bird baby quilt, my Dog Gone Cute quilts were both listed and sold in my Etsy shop. That was before I planned to be participating as a vendor at the International Plowing Match in Harriston in August. Because the Dog Gone Cute pattern has been one of my more popular patterns, I wanted to have a sample to hang in the booth.
This time I decided to change things up. I chose to use two different grey Toscana fabrics for the main patches on the dog faces and instead of using white, I used the Blossom print left over from the backing on the Ay, Chihuahua quilt. That background print, which is Alpine by Moda, was also featured as the boy dog blocks in the Ay, Chihuahua quilt.
If you would like to make a Dog Gone Cute quilt, this is a free quilt along on my blog. The instructions can be found by clicking on the Quilt Alongs tab beneath my blog header.
Whoopsie!
Every now and then I make a mistake. Yesterday's post was supposed to simply be a post about the upcoming quilt show in Harriston. But I had added the link up by accident. So the Let's Bee Social was available a day early.
And it is officially back again today!
It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!
What have you been working on?
- Click on at least a few of the others who have linked up.
- In your blog post, please include a link back to my blog.
- Grab the "Let's Bee Social!" button from above and put it on your sidebar. This way others who visit your blog that week can join in the fun! Share the news of this new linky and Let's Bee Social!
- Following Sew Fresh Quilts is not required. But it sure would BEE nice!

Aww, cute puppy dogs! Everybody's posts are so fun this week. Inspires me to do better!
Hi Lorna! I'm so happy that I was part of the Dog Gone Cute blog hop! These puppies are so cute and my quilt makes me smile. I hope to have time to make more puppies! Thank you for the party! x Teje
Oh my goodness, the unexpected floral is just darling in the pups! So cute! And thanks for the great party!
I agree with everybody else, the floral fabric makes those puppies so sweet.
I really like seeing these cute pups with a little floral accent... very sweet! I suppose selling your quilt was not such a bad thing after all... it means you get to make a new one! Have a great time at your show!
The unexpected floral print just adds extra personally to you dogs!
I too like the floral print used in these cute doggy faces. Thank you for sharing this!
Very fun doggies! The grey with the white print works out really well. Making a quilt with those blocks is on my to do list.
Super cute little dogs, Lorna. As everyone has said, the floral works so well. Thanks for the party.
didn't even notice the link up was a day early LOL, I never seem to know what day it is!
I love the floral print on the puppies. I can never get enough of this quilt. Mine hangs in my bedroom :)
I really like this version. I would never have thought to use a floral print in a dog's face, but it works so well and gives the doggie faces interest! It looks so great combined with the near solids and really ties all of the dog faces together.
Such cute blocks! I love the way the piecing makes some of the pups look like they have one ear cocked and the other down! I may have to visit this pattern someday in the future...
I'm a big fan of the print fabric! I love this version!!
Your pups are so adorable! The print fabric really gives this quilt character.
OMW!!! those pups are so dog gone adorable!!!! no matter what fabric you use!
I love the floral fabric for the dogs! It gives them a touch of whimsy :)
So darn cute! Congrats on the sale of your quilts.
Your new puppy quilt is sooooo adorable! Love the flowered faces! :)
What fabrics did you use for the fish? I really like the blue. When I saw the pattern called for blue and orange, I wasn't so sure how it would look. But it's wonderful!
