I've been back from Houston for almost two weeks now. Things are finally returning to normal since returning from Quilt Market. Today I am sharing a few photos from my adventure!
This was my booth. Pretty simple. Just brought quilts to hang on the walls and a few smaller items to show on the table. And I brought a couple of binders with printed material - one to show the piecing methods I use in my patterns and one to share the covers of my patterns that are available for purchase.
I didn't bring a "real" camera. Just used my phone for these photos. My sister took this next picture for me. Actually she took quite a few of me being goofy in my booth. But she is a bit shaky and her pictures all turned out blurry. Maybe that's a good thing?
This is the view from our room at the Hilton.
During the weekend we did not wander far from the hotel or the convention center which was right across the street and can be seen in the photos below.
From the convention center you can see the other hotel that was also an option for a close stay. Both of them have a skywalk enabling you to travel from the hotel to the convention center without going outside.
We took two days to drive down. I chose to stay overnight on the first day at Nashville because it is about half way. On the return trip we took some time to see a few sights. I really wanted to go to the Cooter's Museum because I enjoyed the Dukes of Hazard show when I was young. And I enjoyed watching the DVD sets with my son Russell when he was younger. I had to get a photo of my truck parked next to the General Lee.
Inside the museum they had a lot of memorabilia from the show. I enjoyed all the little sets.
Then we drove over to the "American Pickers" Antique Archaeology Nashville location. It is one of many shops in this old building. My sister enjoys antiques and auctions.
I had a great time being able to spend the week with my sister. We have not spent much time together during the past 35 years. So it was fun to be able to laugh and be crazy with each other. We met a lot of fun people while we were at Market. Especially Cheryl and Vicki from 3 Hens and a Chick quilt shop. What a load of laughs we had together!
I'd tell you more but.....
What happens in Houston stays in Houston.

LOL! Sounds like you had a terrific trip. I have a pick up too but I don't think I'll ever get to photo it by General Lee! Tad jealous, me!
One thing I noticed was the size of your quilts hanging there - they always seem to be lap sized until I saw the first photo with the mountains! Certainly put it all into perspective for me - even the puddy tat faces!
Hope it was a successful show for you too. :D
I love your Tshirt! Congrats on getting the first year of Market under you belt!
Lorna, what a great trip! You got to display your gorgeous work, spend time with your sister, visit neat places, and expand your ideas. I would love to know what work you saw that was inspirational at the show.
