So glad to have you join us for the Let's Bee Social weekly linky party!
Isn't this the cutest set of jungle animals you ever seen on a quilt? I love those purple hippos!
These quilts I'm sharing today were made by Cathy.
Cathy first email was, "I thought you might enjoy seeing the quilts I made for my two newest grandchildren. I made the jungle animal one for Miss Penelope, her mother LOVES Hippos.
Fox & Friends was made for (my) grandson (who's last name is) Fox. I think you can guess why! Thank you for sharing your wonderful designs with us in the quilt making world. I have another grandchild due in August.....Now I have to decide which of your other animal quilts I'll make for the newest baby! Thank you again for sharing your talent!."
After replying to Cathy's email and asking for permission to share her quilts and story, Cathy replied with more details...
"Yes, you may share my quilts on your blog. I'd be honored! I'm glad you liked the quilts. I had a lot of fun making them. I love when a quilt makes you smile while working on it, and both of these did just that!"
"For the Fox & Friends I used the color chart you gave with the pattern, plus a couple pieces of green from my stash.... due to human cutting error! The jungle quilt was made with mostly fat quarter's of Toscana Blenders by Deborah Edwards for Northcott. Since I needed more than a fat quarter to make the giraffe bodies, I bought yardage of an orange Grunge by Moda. I used the same grunge for the faces of both the lion and the monkey and used a beige-gray Weave from Moda for the background. I'm really pleased with how both quilts turned out."
Cathy continues, "Like I mentioned in my previous e-mail, we are expecting another grandchild in August and I will need to make a design decision for another quilt. I'm leaning towards your Elephant Parade. My daughter is not finding out the sex until the baby is born, so I think the elephants may be gender neutral. Perfect! Thank you for making these quilts possible. You have a gift!"
This is my Elephant Parade quilt. This pattern and all of the others can be found here in my pattern shop. It makes me so happy to be able to share quilts made by other readers and to show how the patterns can be personalized to suit each quilter's ideas. I just can't get over how sweet those purple hippos and the blue elephant are. Maybe Cathy's Elephant Parade would end up with some fun and colourful elephants too. Congratulations on the wonderful news of another grandchild coming this fall, Cathy!!!

I have used your tips and tutorials (faux flange binding and wavy line quilting) several times lately with great success. Thank you for sharing
