«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 420 Newer› Newest»I occasionally use solids but would say that 95% of my fabric is patterned. x
I love it all! I'm finding that I really need more solids in my stash for complimentary view of my florals. The majority of my stash was left to me by my grandmother so more variety would be wonderful. Thank you so much for such an amazing opportunity. Love, love, love you!
I mostly use prints but I'm using solids more and more.
I like to use a combination of both, depending on the design. I love using 'blenders' that look solid from a distance but have a delicate print when viewed up close.
I like to mix in a few solids in every project. I have only made 1 all-solid quilt, and I like it enough that I want to make another one.
I love using both print and solids. Some day I would love to do one with all solids. I think they look just so clean, and fresh.
I love using prints, but also use a lot of tone-on-tone fabrics for backgrounds. I do have a solid quilt top in the works, but think it will be my one and only all solid top. :)

I like prints...But forcing myself to try solids lol....So many cool quilts with solids....... happyness04431@yahoo.com
Love using both..depending on patter I am using. Do tend to lean more to prints tho! :)
Thank you for chance to win your Give-a-way too! :D
Lately I've been doing a lot of mixing solids with prints. But I'd love to make an Amish-style solids quilt someday.
Such a great give-away!
I use both. I sew prints and want to sew solids. I sew solids and dream of sewing prints..ahahha
I love prints! There are so many amazing designs to choose from out there... I only buy solids if and when I need them for a project
I prefer prints...but I e been working with more solids lately.
i use them all!!!
I use both prints and solids I could use some low volume because I tend to buy brights
I use both, but really struggle buying and using solids, unless it's just something to frame a print, I prefer pretty prints, hehe.
I like to use both. I feel like solids give your eyes someplace to rest and help make the prints pop.
I like to use prints and mottled fabrics.
It kind of depends on the project. That said, I have a lot more prints in my stash than solids.
I use a LOT of prints with very little solids mixed in.
I love solids most.
I use both.
I love prints, but my favorites are tone on tone prints.
I love prints, but I recently made a quilt from all solids for a gift and I loved how it turned out. I think I am going to try to use them more often!
I mostly use prints, but also solids for certain patterns. thanks for chance to win. (celiaambrose@hotmail.com)
Mostly prints! :)
craftyccain@gmail.com
Depends a lot on what I am working on. But in general, I would say prints and solids.
I like both, all depends on the specific project.
I love both solids and prints. The quilt tells me which to use!
I tend to use mostly prints. Everything from tone-on-tone to bright-n-flashy.
I use both prints and solids. It really depends upon what kind of quilt I'm making what kind of fabric I need.
I love working with Prints. They are fun to match up.
I like to use both! Thanks for the giveaways.
I use both....it's like painting: you need the dark to make the light shine and vice versa. The solids really set off the prints and vice versa. Of course there are exceptions to every rule.
I use both. Depends on what I am working on.
I use both!
Those Fusion Illusion fabrics are one of my favorites!
I love printed fabric and tend to work with that the most.
But I love the solid quilts that I see other make.
It really depends on the project I'm working on. I use both prints and solids. If pushed for one answer, it would probably be prints since I tend to buy more of them that solids.
Prior to about a year ago, I would have said prints with no hesitation. But this year I have been really, really drawn to solids. So my current answer is solids. Though most of my stash is prints.
Prints!!! I LOVE prints!! Or all solids in a quilt.
Both, depending on what I'm making.
Both, depending on what I'm making.
I love to incorporate solids in my quilting. They provide great color, but also a place for the eye to rest. Also, it can be fun using a solid color for a background, especially an unexpected one like turquoise or coral!
I love prints and love to use solids for accent. I'm always drawn to the print first!
Annette
I like prints and solids and tone on tone and batiks. Yes, I like fabric.
I use them both. Thanks!
I usually make quilts from prints, but would love to incorporate more solids, and eventually make a completely solid quilt.

I'm not too picky...I do enjoy quilting/piecing...I like prints, but ones that aren't too busy. I like orderly prints. Solids are good but without imagination can be antiseptic....I really really really like batiks which kinda offer the best of both worlds.
I like both. I usually use solids as a background fabric.
I like both but I prefer prints a little more.
I like both, but I prefer prints a little more.
It all depends on the project. I love me some solids, but sometimes it just has to be prints. Or a mix of the two!
I have more solids right now in my stash, but need both to pull together and pull out more colors from a print. jarvenpa1ne(at)gmail(dot)com
I adore prints most, but use a lot of tone on tone solids and marbles.
I have used both, but I think I prefer prints. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net.
I use both thanks
I haven't made a quilt with solids (yet) :-) I just tend to lean towards prints.
ktreve (at) hotmail (dot) com
I like to use prints, but your Ugly Christmas Sweater Quilt was the first time I used solids and they were fun too, so I have to say I like both!!!
j_dobler@msn.com
I am beginning to like solids.
Anything goes for me! I like everything and it depends on my mood
Julie.mirdoch@shaw.ca
I use lots of solids. I'm becoming bolder in my print choices, but I don't like big prints. I like a lot of blender, tone-on-tone prints, and I like a lot of contrast between my colors, solids and prints--that way, the block and pattern shine!
reillyr2(at)hotmail(dot)com
I gravitate to prints, especially geometric and polkadot prints.
Both...it's all about VALUE!
I love them all but I find that I mostly work with prints.
Prints have always been my favorite. However, I've been inspired with solids with the modern quilts. Thank you for this giveaway opportunity. Such awesome items....fabric, thread, pattern book...oh, my! What more could a quilter want!
Right now I seem to be using mainly solids.
I love both solids & prints and most times use both in a project :)
I love working with prints.
I love a combination of solids and prints, but it really depends on the quilt design.

tushay3 (at) yahoo (dot) com
I generally prefer both ... I rarely make a project with just solids.
I like prints ,especially batiks but I usually add a near sold or two in my projects.
I use both, though not always together. Some of my favorite projects are great mixes of solids and prints, while other projects use only solids. I'm trying to think of a project that uses only prints and I'm not sure I have made one of those...that might be a good challenge, to see if I could do that and not end up with something that would induce a migraine or a seizure. ;)
I like both.
I use both prints and solids.
I rarely use pure solids. I often use solid blender mini-prints instead that read like a solid.

This is such a fun week. Thanks for a chance to win.

What a fun week! Thanks Lorna for a great giveaway.
Print or solid really depends on the project at hand. I will say though, I love textured solids (Dimples, Criss Cross, Grunge, Marbles, Painters Canvas, etc.)!

I mostly use prints, but am incorporating more and more solids these days. I like a combination of the two in a quilt.
Thanks for the generous giveaway! I love to use both prints and solids. It is hard to choose one or the other.
Have never ever sewn with solids, but Lorna is changing my mind!
I use a lot of prints and solids. I normally choose one focal fabric and then add other complimentary fabrics, both solid and prints from my stash. I love tone on tone prints, small florals, and batiks and find that most of the time they will be my main focal point. Then the rest of my solids and prints seem to just add themselves to the pile for each project!
Oh I use both, depending on the projects
I definitely use both!
I like small muted prints.
Thanks, Peggy
peggy_verdongibbs@att.net

I'm a print girl because I love the movement it creates. I love the look of solids though and have started to use them in my quilts, but right now, by mixing them with a print. Aren't I silly?
I have always been attracted to prints, since I started my stash with 1930's reproduction prints! I do keep some solids around, mostly white for backgrounds.
