Cat-Eye Zippered Pouch

Yay me! I finally made my first pouch!

I have been following the Sew Can She blog ever since I had the opportunity to do a guest post for Caroline back in April 2014.  When I recently seen this free Cat-Eye zippered pouch tutorial by Sherri of Thread Riding Hood being featured, I could not resist!

I printed out the pattern pieces and used Sherri's tutorial to make this pouch for my niece, who was visiting from Wisconsin. Last week I showed you the Happy Turtle pillow I made for her.

How sweet are these kittens and playful goldfish? They are Cats and Fishbowls in Blue and Goldfish in White from the Go Fish collection designed by Hoodie for Timeless Treasures. I picked those up from Sew Sisters Quilt Shop back in May during their Mother's Day Sale.

This is the view from the back....

First time using zipper ends on a project. And this is the view of the inside....

I had stopped at the dollar store for a few extras to give my niece to commemorate her trip. I chose the sweatshirt covered notepad because she's a college girl who loves track, and because it was just to cute to pass up. I also grabbed a couple of pens, along with the little Maple Leaf zipper pull. Unfortunately, the notepad is far too big to fit in this little pouch.

So I made sure to stop in at the Rhéo Thompson Candies and picked up some Mint Smoothies. Those will easily fit in the pouch. But likely won't be in there for long. They are SO GOOD!

This Cat-Eye pouch was the 53rd use of my 100 labels
ordered from Ikaprint.

How do I feel about having made this Cat-Eye pouch? I really love the design. It's a great way to feature a fave piece of cute fabric in that fussy-cut cat-eye shape. And the tutorial is well written and easy to follow. Even for a first timer like me!

I guess this won't be the last time you ever see a pouch made by me.

Just wanted to let you know...

Oh, I love the pouch AND the fabric. It's sooooo cute how you arranged the catd looking at the eye with the fishes. Just perfect. If your niece doesn't like it, I would take it. ;) But I guess she will love it, too.
Have fun with your visitor.
Greetings from Germany, Rike

The fabric perfectly suits the pouch and you have done an excellent job making the pouch. Now I am sorry I didn't see that fabric before Sew Sisters sold out.
