Giraffe Love

Once you've done the Elephants .....
And you've done the ZebraZ ......

How do you follow that up?
Well, with Giraffes, of course!

This is Giraffe Love and it's made from Kona Cottons.
For the Background: Ice Frappe, Pond, Pool, Breakers, Cyan & Oasis.
For the Giraffes there is Sunny & Cedar.
Cactus, Peapod & Grass are for the Leaves.
The top finishes at a nice baby quilt size - 40" x 50"

My fabric order from Mad About Patchwork arrived on Friday.
I cut out the pieces on Saturday.
Began the piecing on Monday.
And had a completed top by Tuesday afternoon.

Now what?

These are my choices for backing fabric:  Cosmopolitan in Lime, Ampersand Typography in White, Windy Day in Aqua and Cosmopolitan in Currant.

The quilt people had their say when I put the question up on Facebook....

And so did the folks on Instagram...

I'm having a really hard time making a decision.
Which one would you choose?

Love these guys! I think Cosmopolitan in Currant is my favorite. It catches the colors from the front.

Cosmopolitan in lime gets my vote. I love this one and still want to make it longer for a Yoga mat!

OMG those giraffes, I love this animal kick you've been on, it' been so fun to watch you come up with all these wonderful ideas! I would go windy day in aqua cause the tree theme goes well with the giraffe's heads above the leaves.

First off, the giraffes are adorbs! I'd go windy day in Aqua, as I also think the trees go well.

Ah. Maze. Balls.
I love these giraffes.... seriously dude. They're super fun.
I wonder if you're having trouble with the backing because none of the oh-so-pretty choices are perfect for these long neck fellas
Too much grey & black, not enough cedar-y, orange-y, browns..... pull 4 more.
Yikes. I hope it's OK to be honest...just my opinion, not meant to hurt any feelings, inflame or incite any negativity.

Oh Lorna, those giraffes are awesome. Looks like you found your calling. A whole alphabet of animals? What's next? Cats and dogs? Monkeys? Seriously, that is a great quilt! Love to see what you come up with.

I like the Windy Day!

Could those giraffes be any cuter? I love how whimsical and happy they are. Windy Day is cool, but my favorite is Ampersand. It makes me think the giraffes are friends. :-)
