Here piggy, piggy!
It's dinner time down on the farm!
Mmmm..... I love me some bacon.
Last week these four little piggies were stitched up with a couple of cobs of corn. Polka dots in pink for the pigs and a couple of bright yellows for the corn. All set against a background of grey Widescreen crosshatch by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman.
After considering all the possibilities, I decided to put them into this layout, making a long table runner.
For the binding I used my remaining Katie Stripe in Midnight by Beauty Queen. It's not black, but a very dark navy blue and blends in nicely with the grey background and the blue backing. For the backing I used a matching Widescreen in Pacific, left over from making this Giggles Up quilt.
This quilt finish was the 36th use of my 100 labels ordered from

This farm fresh Pretty Piggy table runner finished at approximately12" x 44"
I received some wonderfully positive feedback on the posting of the Pretty Piggy progress on both my instagram and the Sew Fresh Quilts facebook page. As a GREAT BIG thank you, I decided to share this as a free tutorial here.

This little piggy had corn cobs.
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy went wee, wee, wee...all the way to the quilt store!
Great way to brighten up a table...love it!
So darn cute as always! Thanks for sharing :)
This is so adorable, I love the pigs! My mum is a big fan of pigs so thank you so much for sharing the block tutorial, I might have to make her a little bag.
this is really cute - I love the corn cobs added!
Lovely table runner, Lorna. It's bright and cheerful, and probably a useful talking point if meal time conversation flags.
I grew up on a farm and as a little kid I had to feed the piggies both big and small(I didn't like that one bit). But your piggy sure is cuter!!
Again, way too cute, Lorna! You are on a roll. I'm racking my brain trying to think of an animal to challenge you... you've worked through much of the zoo, the woodland, and parts of the farmyard. What about... armadillos?
Or perhaps one of these...http://www.boredpanda.com/strange-animals/... they could use the PR!
SSSOOOOO freaking cute!
Your piggies are pretty! Love the polka dots.
The pig is very cute! And I love the corn! I really like the wavy quilting lines. Thank you for linking up with me for TGIFF.
Great table runner! Those pigs are so cute.
I need some little piggies at my house! My daughter saw your piggy table runner and said that it was the coolest quilt she had ever seen.
I think I need to stop working on all my projects and start making all these cute animals. Thanks for the tutorial.
These pigs are soooo cute! Thanks for tagging me on Instagram! Off to make a few piggies!
This is such a cute little table runner. I'm loving all of your animals!
