Let's Bee Social #213

Welcome to the Let's Bee Social!

What have I been working on? I've been sewing up the Vintage Wedding quilt made from the design I shared at last week's Let's Bee Social. And also working on a new idea!

These are Pigs in a Blanket!

The first three designs above finish at 34" x 34".

But I have also been wondering about making a 34" x 40" version instead, as shown below.

Which size do you prefer?

Do you think the 34" x 34" is too small?

Or do you think the smaller size is cuter?

Now... It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!
What have you been working on?

I like the piggies, the hen and the chickens best, a great layout, this is another of your beaut designs.

I love the 34 x 34 best, but also like that it can be made a little longer if needed. Love, these designs - especially the little piglets with the hen and chickens. Also love the cute shorter giraffes - and the checker bedspread. It also looks like the piglets are looking out of their pen to the other animals below (if you see it as a pen opening instead of a pillow behind their head)! Love these designs so very much, Lorna!!

Just adorable! Both sizes have their uses. It would depend how you wanted to use it. I'd like the 34" x 40" version best for a crib.

Cute pigs! I love the 34 x 40" version, and the chicken version too!

They are all so cute! I think I like the chickens the best!
I like the bigger, rectangular size better.

I love Pigs in a blanket! I prefer a larger version since I really like to make larger baby quilts or throws.

The pigs literally IN THE BLANKET is darling. I like the verbal and visual humor of it. Really cute idea. I guess it would be easy to make it larger if someone wanted to...I like small quilts for small babies.

I think the 34 x 34 is very cute for a wall hanging - but not big enough for a baby quilt. I think it would just depend on what it is intend for the wall or the baby?

Love the plaid blanket version!

Oh my gosh, that last Pigs In a Blanket quilt is ADORABLE!!!!! No, I don't think 34" x 34" is too small at all. In fact, now that "they" have decided crib quilts are dangerous, the smaller size is ideal for tucking into strollers and car seats. I've started making my baby quilts smaller than I used to, too.

I can't believe how you keep coming up with cuter and cuter designs!!! As for size: depends what the end use is. Premie quilt? Wall quilt? Crib quilt ... etc ...

I like all of the quilts, but I prefer the slightly larger ones - and the pigs and plaid? SO cute!!!!

Oh Lorna what a cute pattern you have created!

These pigs are so adorable! Making them smaller than 42" is great, since you don't have to piece the backing that way!

So cute!! I love the piggies in the blankie! :D The little chicks are probably my second favorite. As far as size goes, I hardly ever make a square quilt. Even my throws are a wee bit longer than they are wide.

I love the piggies with the giraffes. The giraffes that you designed have been one of my favs! Adding the pigs (which my youngest son loved) made them even cuter. I will have to try and make this one if I can get the little lamb quilt done first!! Thank you for all that you do for us quilters! You are always so helpful and kind!

These are ridiculously cute! Personally I prefer the slightly longer size, but it's a fabulous pattern and idea either way!

These are adorable! For crib quilts, wouldn't the longer one be better? I hope there will be a pattern to buy soon, because I'd love to make one!!!

I am not sure what size to vote for, but tose are the cutest little piggies ever!

Your piggies are so cute, and Iove the 34" designs, though I suppose for a cot quilt, the longer shape is more practical, why not offer both! :)

Rachel said...

Very clever! I prefer rectangle quilts, so my vote is for 34x40.

Oh My Goodness - these are so adorable! At first glance my mind thought "Why are those pigs looking at the giraffes? Then it hit me that they ere laying with their heads on pillows and had the Giraffe quilt over top of them. Silly me!
