Howling in the New Year!

This is the Buffalo Plaid Wolves quilt. My first finish for 2018!

The pattern comes with instructions for a sitting wolf and a laying wolf.

I decided to include both.

The backing is Flannel in Windowpane and Tattersail by Local Color Flannel and match both the blue Grunge Dots from the front. Except for the binding, all the fabrics for this quilt were recent purchases shared in this post.

The outdoor photo shoot didn't last long. There are no glamour shots of this quilt laying in the snow or draped across the railing on the side porch. It was SO COLD! And my fingers were in excruciating pain. So the remaining photos were taken indoors.

When it came time to consider what to choose for the binding, I found this silver flecked piece in my stash. It's from the Artisan Spirit Shimmer collection by Northcott Fabrics.

The quilting was performed using a blue variegated Magnifico Thread from Superior Threads on top and plain white Gutterman thread in the bobbin.

The "Buffalo Plaid Wolves" quilt finished at 52" x 68"
and was the 65th use of my 2nd edition of 100 labels
ordered from Ikaprint.

Buffalo Plaid Wolf 36" x 44"

Buffalo Plaid Wolf 44" x 44"

Buffalo Plaid Wolf 76" x 92"

The Buffalo Plaid Wolf pattern provides instructions for 5 sizes:
36" x 44", 44" x 52", 52" x 68", 68" x 84", and 76" x 92".

I like him on the blue spots, and so cold?? I would be so happy if you stayed inside and kept warm.

Hi Lorna,
This really turned out nicely! Aren't you just so thrilled with it? It reminds me of Alaska - I guess the Buffalo plaid and wolves together just take me there.

They look such warm and cozy quilts and a wonderful boys quilt too. Lovely designs.

Wait! You weren't willing to sacrifice your fingers to your art ? :) I'm loving your wolves--they should be used as a symbol of the movements to reintroduce wolves into the wilderness!

Another great finish. We're having cold as well. Although it was 13 degrees yesterday. It was like spring.
