Here is Desert Donkeys - all quilted up. This quilt has an Arizona feel and those fat little burros sure make me smile!
The fabrics are all from stash. The background is from Northcott Fabrics Ambience collection. The cactus plants and donkey fabrics, also Northcott Fabrics, are from the Toscana collection.
The backing is Naturella by Art Gallery Fabrics. Those large luscious flowers compliment the flowers on the cactus plants from the front. And the dark brown binding makes the perfect frame. Of course, this was finished using the organic wavy line quilting with my walking foot, using a beige Superior Thread to match the background.
The "Desert Donkeys" quilt finished at 38" x 47"
and was the 61st use of my 2nd edition of 100 labels

love those donkeys, and the background fabric is a perfect backdrop for the brown burros!!!
I agree - those donkeys are just so lovely. I like the cacti too.
So lovely! Especially love how the rows are laid out with the cute donkeys and cactus!
Very fun quilt!
As always, very happy and cute. I love Donkeys.
I am not familiar with cactus or southwest living at all so this is a cute combination.
You have the sweetest designs
Hi lorna!! Having grown up in Arizona in the 70's...we actually had donkeys WALK through our backyard and I remember my parents putting coffee cans over the new squaros so they wouldn't get eaten. Your quilt is spot on!!
Love the cactus flowers! Very festive!
