Most of the quilts I make are made to test the patterns I dream up. But this little quilt and matching pillowcase were made just for the sake of making.
I am seeking to use up some of the fabrics I have had lingering in my stash this year. And I still had a little bit of fabric left over from making the Fox among the Birches quilts and from selling quilt kits for those in my Etsy shop. You can see my first Fox among the Birches here and the second one here.
For the backing, I had 47" of the Animal Toss in Pebble from the Forest Friends collection for MODA. The coordinating binding is Birch Trees, also in Pebble.
Because I still had a little of the binding fabric left over, and it was now looking so lonely, I decided to make a matching pillowcase. The pillowcase measures 14.5" x 26" and fits a 13" x 20" pillow form.
Of course the quilting was performed using my walking foot to create organic wavy lines with Light Grey Omni from Superior Threads on top and a slightly darker grey thread in the bobbin. The Omni has been used for a lot of quilting and is almost completely finished!

Your quilt is gorgeous. I love strip quilts and they are so quick and easy. One day when I have the right fabric I will make one!
What a wonderful use of these left over fabrics. Quilt and pillowcase are beautiful. Love the orange with the grey!
I like it - strip quilts go together so quickly and you quilted it so nicely to - it almost looks like little waves going across.
What a sweet quilt. Your wavy line quilting shows so well on this quilt. There is so much movement. Encourages me to give it a try.
Beautiful and fun finish!
What a sweet finish. I love the coordinating pillowcase!
Very cute. Love the quilt and matching pillow case. Great way to use up some fabric left from another quilt.
First time for everything and that is such a lovely first one to have done. :D
Super cute! Love the little fox print. Well done!!!!
Wonderful little quilt! I love how the quilting makes the straight pieced strips look.
It's good to try new things. Great finish. I love the fox print on the front.
I simply love this quilt! The fabrics and the quilting are just perfect together!! What a clever way to use up bigger fabric leftovers!

Sweet and to the point! Sometimes, less is more, yes? The fox fabric is the cutest.
What a nice set that will be for a little one! Lorna, how do you keep your wavy lines so consistant? Great job!
