Today I'm going to take you for yet another trip down memory lane...
I am so excited to share these quilt blocks made by Anita.
She emailed me.....
Hello Lorna,
I was the person from Colorado that wanted a brown beaver. So I took your pattern and altered it. I added a third brown where the maple leaf went. I think it turned out very well and wanted to share it with you. You are welcome to share it on your blog, if you choose.
I have also included a photo of how my Jolly Christmas QAL is going. Sorry I don't do instagram, flicker and such, don't even have a cell phone.
Enjoy,
Anita
Thanks so much for sharing your photos and story with us, Anita!!!
It was back in November of 2015 that I shared my first Canadian Beaver block and the Forest Friends quilts I made. This block finished at 8” x 13”. You can read all about the process here in this post.
And then I doubled the size of the block to 16" x 26" and added the beaver as the main feature found in the Canada 150 quilt I made at the end of last year, for Canada's 150th anniversary that we are celebrating this year. You can read all about the process here in this post.
I have been doing a lot of pattern work lately. Revising previous patterns and developing some new ones. Which is pretty boring and no pretty photos of quilting to show. So it has been great to be able to share these photos from my readers each week. Hope to have some new projects to show you very soon!

The squirrel is a scream! Especially in the Canadian flag jumper. So funny =)
Thank you for sharing Anita's beautiful work. Love her blocks! I hope the bumper2bumper is a new pattern coming out of yours - I'm looking for something like this and have been searching...... :)! Hoping to start my Canadian memory quilts soon with your Canadian Beaver in the centre!!
What a great looking beaver! And Bumper2Bumper looks great--can't wait for that one!
I just bought fabric for your O, Canada quilt this week. I wanted to make it, but I am American, and my family thought it would be a little odd to make a Canadian quilt. Then we got an invitation to a wedding in Canada! The perfect excuse! The perfect wedding quilt! I can't wait to get started!
Those cares are so cute! I can see it will be another pattern hit! And the possibilities with those cars are going to be endless!
Such cuties! Thank you for hosting the linkup.
She did a great job modifying the beaver. Good luck with your pattern work.
It's so great to see how others interpret your patterns, isn't it! Your Bumper to Bumper pattern looks fun!
The beaver block is so fun and cute! I bought the squirrel pattern a while back and have yet to get down to it! Someday...
Oh em gee that beaver is too cute! And a great testament to your skill as a pattern designer that the beaver can withstand a large change and still be awesome.
Anita's beaver block is cute! Looking forward to seeing your new patterns and revisions.
