Christmas Stockings

This is the first quilt block for the "Have a Jolly Little Christmas" quilt along!

Today's block is the easiest block in the bunch. So it's a great one to warm up with. Especially if you might be having cold feet about joining in this super fun quilt along. Hahaha! Er, I mean.... HoHoHo!!!

Christmas Stockings is a 12" quilt block.

Made using traditional piecing methods.




Sew Fresh Quilts – Christmas Stockings

Finished size of block is 12” x 12”

Fabric Requirements
Single Block
White
1/4 yard
Dark Sock #1
1/4 yard
Light Sock #1
1/8 yard
Dark Sock #2
1/4 yard
Light Sock #2
1/8 yard








Read through entire instructions before beginning.  Press all seams open as you go.

STOP: Stitch, Trim, Open & Press. To perform the STOP method, align a square (A) or rectangle (C) on the corner of the unit (B) with right sides facing together. Draw a diagonal line and sew along this diagonal line. Trim a ¼” seam. Finger press the seam open and then press with a hot iron. Pressing the seams open to reduce bulk is recommended.

Step 1: Use the STOP method to add the White (A) square and (E) rectangle on the Dark Sock (C) rectangles.






Step 2: Use the STOP method to add the White (F) squares on the corners of the Dark Sock (G) rectangles.






Step 3: Along with the White (D) and Light Sock (B) rectangles, arrange and sew the units together to complete the block. Block should measure 12.5” square.

you are so busy all the time - I can't even think of Christmas at this time of year LOL even though I know for most of us to make a Xmas quilt now is the time of year to do it :)

This is going to be a favorite block! Love the block sizes and that they can quickly become a little quilt from just 1 block pattern.

I love your blocks! And the idea of starting for holiday gifts now is wonderful. Are the fabric requirements going to be posted for each block or is there a total requirements summary available?
