Spring. Is it really here?

Spring is a Season of Joy for me. After another long, cold winter it is such a pleasure to see everything being renewed. The green grass and budding trees. The bright blue skies filled with puffy white clouds. The birds have returned to sing their morning song and to hop across the lawn.  Awww!
Makes me smile!

Spring Tulips. These were from bulbs I planted last fall. Given to me by my cousin, I had no idea what colours I would end up with. These tulips were just opening up when my kids came home from school. This is my sassy daughter Erin and the cat she loves so much. Fluffy.

By the next day, those tulips were in full bloom. I was happy to see there was a brilliant mix of reds and yellows. Here the wind is blowing hard. Making them dance!

Spring is a Renewal of Life. On both sides of my family we have new additions. A boy on one side
and a daughter on the other. Perfect opportunities for handing out quilts to loved ones. Knowing your hard work will be appreciated and cherished.

Spring also brings to mind Spring Cleaning. The first thing on my list was to go over my inventory of finished quilts. This past week I had a Spring Sale in my Etsy shop. All my older quilts and runners have been marked down to ridiculously low prices. I only have so much room for storage. And as much as I love each quilt I have made.... I can't keep them all!

The original WoW-E! quilt was purchased. I washed her up and threw her in the dryer. Here she is all crinkled up and getting ready to go to her new owner - right here in Ontario. A new baby girl will be snuggled and wrapped up in this - one of my favourite makes ever.

It's not easy letting go...

But on the same day as I was preparing for her departure....

The On Point quilt arrived back home again. Following the photo shoot in Texas by Fat Quarter Shop. Along with this quilt, a sweet card with a pink envelope. And equally sweet message. So thoughtfully enclosed were also four spools of Aurifil thread!

Spring is a time of renewal. I am feeling revived. And my quilting journey is continuing. Here's to all the new and exciting adventures to come!

Along with you... My kind, supportive and wonderful friends.... I am having a wonderful time and so happy just to - be. Thank you for sharing your quilting adventures on your blogs and inviting me to be a part of your quilting world. I don't know what I'd do without you!

Keep On Quilting On!

Your daughter and her fur baby remind me of my daughter. She loved her cats and loved on them unconditionally, even though she has allergies to their hair.

Love your tulips and what a perfect combo of colors. I wish we could grow tulips in Florida, but it doesn't get cold enough for long enough, thankfully. Enjoy your Spring and the mild weather. Debbie

Ahhhh Lorna, you brought tears to my eyes - truly so much beauty to celebrate! Your Erin is such a doll and Fluffy sure is cute. Isn't that just terrific that as you said goodbye to the first Wow-E that your on point quilt returned home! And could you ask for a better note to go with it? I am so very happy for you and so excited about the great things in store for you!
