I really didn't mean to make this first purchase. But once I seen these large graphic floral prints.... I couldn't help myself! Thinking they would be so pretty for a backing. And the Crisscross? What a smart looking binding it will be!
From Hawthorne Threads - Back to Front: 2 yards of Cosmopolitan in Currant from the Urban Mod collection for Art Gallery Fabrics, 2.5 yards of Crisscross in Grey from the Remix collection by Ann Kelle for Robert Kaufman Fabrics and 6 yards of Cosmopolitan in Lime from the Urban Mod collection for Art Gallery Fabrics.
It was in my last Sunday Stash report that I showed you the Elephants in Grey used for my Elephant Parade quilt. I also detailed how I don't normally purchase fabric from out of the country because of the additional charges. That last shipment from Hawthorne Threads was the maximum 30 Yards that will fit in a USPS Priority (Flat Rate Medium Box) for $32.95 USD. Then I had to pay an additional $53.34 CAD for Customs. Although it was completely worth it.... I wondered if they would still charge me for Customs on this smaller shipment.
This time I purchased the maximum 10 1/2 Yards that will fit in a USPS Priority (Flat Rate Envelope) for $19.95 USD. And there were no Customs charges this time. Yeah!
On the other hand, this new bolt of Kona Snow was a must. And once I was there..... these cuts of Striation easily found their way into my cart. They will both be cute as a binding and go with the Skullan in Berry Fuschia I purchased last month.
From Mad About Patchwork - Back to Front: 20 yards of Kona Snow from Robert Kaufman Fabrics and 2 yards each of Striation in Charcoal and in Plum from the Follie collection by Lotta Jansdotter for Windham Fabrics.
Also purchased last week, was a new 40 yard roll of Warm & Natural cotton batting. I purchased a full roll back in October 2013 and was getting really low. Didn't want to take a chance on running out. So I picked up a new roll when I was finished teaching my first quilting class at my LQS. I put the money earned teaching toward that purchase, so that was a bonus!
And last, but not least.... In order to comply with my New Year's goal of drawing more.... A new book of graph paper and some new pencils from WalMart!

What wonderful purchases ! Wow, customs charges A LOT of money ! Have fun drawing !
Love of lovely fabric. Enjoy your Sunday Stash posts. Looking forward to new quilt design that I'm sure will be forthcoming now that you have pencil and paper. Take care.
Love those graphic flower prints. I can't believe those custom charges, they are outrages. I haven't purchased any fabric lately. I am financially strapped so using what I have with the occasional backing fabric purchase. Debbie
