Cuddly, cozy, fun and bright - The Butterfly Quilt! I am so happy with this finish!
Last week a few photos of my Butterfly quilt blocks were shown in this post. I said, "I am already eager to start on another Butterfly Quilt using only solids! Or maybe using a single fabric collection....." But now I am already onto a completely new design idea using those solids instead.
These photos show the quilting detail - organic wavy line quilting. This quilting style gives the feeling of movement. The butterflies seem to be floating on a breeze!
I was recently at my LQS and purchased this fun and lovely polka dot minky for backing. Seemed so suited to The Butterfly Quilt. And it's so soft and cuddly!
This bright pink polka dot was discovered in my stash while searching for fabrics to use in the blocks. There was a large piece. Enough to use in a couple of blocks and to use as the binding.
This large throw quilt, which finished at approximately 56" x 60", is now for sale in my Etsy shop. And The Butterfly Quilt pattern is available from my pattern store here!

Beautiful! Assembling all the individual butterflies together makes a stunning top. I think that they are even more beautiful when assembled than when I saw them separately. Also, I'm always amazed by what your "waves" quilting makes to a quilt.

Oh it tuned out to a wonderful quilt. You sewed a really fresh quilt... reminds me on spring and summer while it is cold, grey and rainy November in Germany. Especially I love your wavy quilting lines - how did you do it, with your walking foot or free motion?

The wavy line quilting adds nice motion to the quilt - like the wind the butterflies are fluttering on. :) Congrats on another finish!

While it is cold and blustery outside,it sure looks like spring insede with your butterfly quilt! It is so vibrant with color,the dotty minky is the perfect backing. Don't you just love finding buried treasure in the ole stash?!
