Truth be told....
It's been a couple of weeks since I did any sewing.
So sad.
But I have been keeping busy.
I am working on two new quilt designs. One is a penguin quilt called Penguin Inn and will be made using selections from Northcott Fabrics ColorWorks collection.
I got the whole thing cut out yesterday and started sewing while it's snowing.
Here is penguin number one.
The other design is a cat quilt called Cat Treats and will be made using selections from Michael Miller Fabrics Cotton Couture collection. It's next in line....

I have also taught two workshops. The Love Birds quilted pillow was chosen by the Listowel Creative Needle Club to be made for their project. And although we had to postpone the meeting in January because of bad weather, we were able to get together on February 16th. This was a large class - about 18 students. And it was a great day! Most of the participants finished their birds and leaves and a couple of people managed to complete the entire block.
The other workshop was for the giraffe quilt Family of Three. This was taught on Monday at E & E's Cloth and Creations in Newton and was attended by 5 participants. Two of them were repeat customers. Janice took part in the Fox & Friends class that I taught last year. And Audrey took the Elephant Parade class in January.
I am really enjoying teaching classes. It is so nice to meet with people in real life!
NOW....
It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!

Hi Lorna! Penguins are fun but the Cats with fish bones are something else! Thank you again for the party! x Teje
Congratulations on your classes Lorna - it really must be nice to meet people in the flesh!! The two patterns you are working on are just gorgeous!!! Thanks for the link up. x
Your quilt designs just keep getting better and better! I love both of these!
cute quilts Lorna, Love the penguins and the bow tie! Congrats on the classes. I am hoping you make your way to MI for a class!
The penguins are so cute! And the fish bones too! Congrats on teaching the classes.
You have been a busy lady! The penguins and kitties both brought a smile to my face. I can't wait to see how those project progress! : )
Love, love those penguins!
I always think it's s good thing when bloggers are honest about how much sewing they really manage recently. In the world of Friday Finishes and stacked blog posts, one could come to believe that people are constantly cranking out quilts. And, comparison being the theft of joy, believe themselves to be lesser quilters. I know I've felt it from time to time. Well done on the new patterns!
Your cats are so creative and funny. The fish make me smile!! I love your creations.
Looking forward to meeting you when you come to Guelph!
Cat treats is so cute Lorna!
Sometimes you just need a sewing break! You of all people!! The penguins are adorable, but I'm in love with the fish bones...so funny cute! You come up with so many amazing ideas!
I think we all need a break sometimes, even from the things we love to do. I love the Cat Treats quilt! I can't wait to show it to my husband. We have a tiny brown kitten at home so he will love all those little critters.

You are so talented. Tell us about that please. Ex. Do you have a head full of ideas just waiting for the right time to release as a pattern or do you have to do a fair bit of research to come up with a unique design. I'd love to hear more. Anyway by now you can tell I love you're creations and wish I had time to make them all.
Love both patterns but Cat Treats is on my to do list. Very happy that you are enjoying your teaching.
I am trying to wrap my head around the thought of you not sewing for a couple weeks!!!! But you have been up to ggod stuff! Both your new projects are super cute! And sew fun to hear about your classes!!!! You are a real pro now, girl!!! :)
Two more wonderful quilt patterns, fantastic work Lorna. I love them both but the penguins really hit the spot for me, so bright and colourful. A break gives us a chance to recharge our mental batteries and can only be beneficial. I only wish I was able to take a class with you, maybe one day via Craftsy??????
Wonderful new ideas! These will be fun patterns for sure.
What fun quilts!... and so in your signature style! I look forward to seeing them come together... especially your cat quilt - adorable!
Your workshops sound great and I'm sure the ladies were excited to glean from your knowledge and experience. I taught school for several years, and I always enjoyed that personal contact with my students... and it makes it even more fun that your classes are about sewing!
You are naughty! I think you've designed my favourite then you go and create perfect penguins! Gorgeous patterns, clever lady X
You are spectacular, Lorna! :D LOVE them! xoxo
You totally amaze me! I bet you lay in bed at night dreaming of furry and feathered things ;)
