This year I have been working hard on using fabrics from stash for most of my projects.
However, we all know that at some point you need to replenish that stash. And today's post is all about fabric additions. Rainbow style!
These pieces are a bright delight!
Never having shopped from here before, I was surfing the internet last week and stumbled upon this sweet honey hole.....
It was difficult not to choose every print carried in the Clinton Modern Creative lineup, but I narrowed it down to these few....
When I shared about my Giraffes in a Row finish last month, at the end of the post I showed a my second stash addition for the year. There was a stack of Kona Cottons for the Giraffes: Violet, Magenta, Cyan, Teal, Lime, Avocado, Canary, Papaya, School Bus, Flame, Deep Rose and Lipstick; for the Background, Essex Yarn-Dyed in Charcoal; for the Backing: Widescreen Crosshatch in Black and for the Binding: Kona Charcoal.
The plan at that time was to make the 6 giraffe version of that pattern using all Kona solids for the giraffes. But after visiting Clinton Modern Creative for the first time.....
I had a MAJOR change of heart!
I have always been drawn to solids but have been working on incorporating more and more prints into my designs - and my stash. So the plan now is to use some of these new additions WITH the solids to make the giraffes.

You scored, Lorna! All so beautiful and a mat too!
Nice brights... you will love working with them. And a bonus gift too. Lucky you...
Beautiful colours in every pile. And a mat, that is a surprise and a treasure.
What a gorgeous selection of prints, Lorna. The bright colors are going to look great in your giraffe quilt. I really love the subtle metallic in Libs' line. And what a great bonus cutting mat!
Pretty, pretty! I don't often shop online, but it's great to have a new-to-me Canadian source to shop when needed!
Nice write up, and thanks for the tip about the fabric source. Gorgeous prints and always nice to hear about great customer service. Since I buy most of my fabric on line I will be purchasing from them. Love your bright giraffes.
Can't wait to see your rainbow giraffes, those fabrics are fabulous!
You have made the transition from solids to prints so well. The new line of fabrics you purchased are so bright and cheerful. Keep up the good work and those creative juices flowing.
These are pretty fabrics! Your giraffes are so cute!
This post is a great tutorial on how to pick modern prints. I have a history of using tone-on-tones, but my stash is pretty traditional looking. I love modern prints, but so often I have trouble figuring out what the dominant color is and how to combine them. So for modern designs, I usually go with solids. You have just shown how to get the print without losing the "tone-on-tone" look that I'm comfortable with. Thanks!
Oh my gosh!!!! Those are awesome colors! I can't wait to see your giraffes in all those great colors. And of course I have to go visit the new site!
I'm loving Clinton Modern also...and I picked up some of that Libs Elliot fabric myself!
I just placed an order with Clinton. Anxiously awaiting for the package. I my have gotten carried away. Oops.... :)
