So glad to have you join us for the Let's Bee Social weekly linky party!
Why didn't you warn me that life actually gets busier as your kids become teenagers?
We are quickly approaching the end of the school year here. And my daughter will be soon graduating from high school, with her brother having only one more year to go. Meanwhile, he is going for his driver's test.
Speaking of driving....
I barely have even sewed much of anything lately. But I did find time to test out the Truck block and it is now available as a block pattern here. Just like the Cars block pattern, these trucks come in two sizes and finish at Large 9" tall by 16" wide or Small 4.5" tall by 8" wide.
These are quilt block patterns and only provide instructions for making the blocks. But you can easily figure out how to place them in a quilt setting like this one I shared recently. My son's name is Russell and he sure does love his truck. It's a Dodge thing.
The Alphabet letters could be used to personalize any quilt and can be found here.
On a side note, I have also added my first quilt kit listing to my shop here for the Cows quilt. I am trying really hard to use my stash to quilt from this year. But I think it's possible that I could be doing that for some time before I get through all the fabric I have accumulated. So I am going to start adding more kits that include a paper pattern to my shop over the coming weeks. Any requests?
Now... It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!
What have you been working on?
- Click on at least a few of the others who have linked up.
- In your blog post, please include a link back to my blog.
- Grab the "Let's Bee Social!" button from above and put it on your sidebar. This way others who visit your blog that week can join in the fun! Share the news of this new linky and Let's Bee Social!
- Following Sew Fresh Quilts is not required. But it sure would BEE nice!

Good morning Lorna! Your cows are so cute! I think it's a great idea to sell also kits; I'm sure many quilters like to get the packet with everything in it. Not everyone collects big stash and this way they can easily have all the colours needed for the pattern. Have a lovely day and thank you again for the party! x Teje
Love your truck blocks and how you designed them. Making up kits for some of your patterns is a great idea! Enjoy the new chapters with your teenagers - graduation and driver's license are both big milestones!
Lorna, your designs are always spectacular and the pick up truck is spot on. I have a little red neck girl that has only owned trucks. This will be perfect for her. thanks.
Absolutely cute trucks!! I linked two posts today...I couldn't pass up linking about the progress on my elephant quilt and the National Sewing Machine Day (although it was yesterday)which posted yesterday. Thanks for the party!!
If you are lucky, you'll be empty nesters in a year or so. We were for one school year, then the oldest graduated college, and moved back home. I'm hoping we'll be empty nesters again.
Congratulations on your daughter's graduation. Your son will love the quilt you designed. He's too old for me to say, "Adorable," so I'll say, "Manly!"
Hang in there, mom!!I love the new cow pattern and I can think of a few guys who would like the trucks!
I love your cute little cars and cows! Thanks for hosting the linky every week.
I love the cows quilt, and is beautiful as a kit! Thank you for the linkup!
Your trunks are very cute, I really like how you used them in the quilt design.
