Let's Bee Social #132

I have finished all 56 of my Bear Paw blocks and am working on the next step in making the Modernitional Bear Paw quilt.

I don't normally make traditional quilt blocks. But I must say, those little HST's are quite time consuming. And working through each step was a lot like working on an assembly line. Now I feel like I am moving on to the fun part!

NOW.... It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!

Those bear paw blocks are just perfect. I'm looking forward to the next part. This will be a fun quilt, as all your quilts. I always make triangles with sewing on paper. That makes perfect triangles, and is a fun, fast and easy way of making them. Have a nice day!

I can't wait to see what you do with your blocks. A bear's paw quilt is on my list to make one day.

I know the feeling about moving on to the 'fun' part - especially after trimming all of those HST's! Beautiful blocks though!
I'm making bags from some bigger Log Cabin blocks. Bags are NOT my favorite thing to make, but I know my girls will love them. Then onto my favorite again - quilts :)!

The blocks look lovely! I made a bear claw once - without the cute bear you have on your pattern! It was early in my quilting day and accuracy wasn't my friend. But the quilt is used and loved. Yours will be wonderful!

That is a big pile of blocks! It is fun to go 'traditional' every once in a while, and like you...by the time I'm at the end of it, I am so ready to have it finished! I can't wait to see your quilt.

Looking forward to seeing how you modernize these bear paw blocks.

Your blocks look so great! Have you tried triangle paper? Makes the tedious part go faster. Looking forward to this finished quilt!

Those blocks are wonderful! I posted your button at Lilypadquilting!

I feel your HST pain! Just made over 800 HSTs for Bonnie Hunter's Jamestown Landing. I see someone else recommended triangle paper. I love it for large quantities of itty bitty triangles. Much, much better than thangles and more accurate and faster than making them 8 at a time.

I love the Bear Paw block, and that's a lot of sewing there! Look forward to see this progress!

FIFTY-SIX blocks?!! Oof-dah! Those points are so perfect Lorna! Wow.

I absolutely love the Bear Paw block! Yours looks so neat all stacked up. I know this quilt will be a big hit.

HST....I have got to try these. I design way to many patterns not to have a grasp. I have one design I am dying to do and it is mostly HST. During "drills" with my spec ops group, if you run out of ammo you yell "SUPPORT!" My wife is gonna have to have my back on this one. I have probably designed over 100 patterns so far. For to get some into production

I just love a bears paw quilt and have never made one! I put a few of the blocks in my first son's baby quilt (20 yrs ago!). I imagine you are happy for the next step, for sure :)

What a great pile of blocks, love those fabrics you chose, and the "bears paws" will all be soon lined up in a quilt,Waiting to see it all come together.

That's some stack Lorna! I know what you mean about assembly line quilting...yuk! I definitely have to break up that kind of piecing with something more fun or I'd go mad. This is a great design and I'm looking forward to seeing you put it all together :)
