Dog Gone Cute - Blog Hop - day 5

I am so Dog Gone excited to share this adorable finish! I received an email from non blogging Cheryl and she took me up on the offer to write a blog post for her. Who let the dogs out?!!!

What would I say in a blog post?  I would say...

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you Lorna for sharing your awesome pattern and the inspiration for this mini-quilt.  You inspired me to not only try this type of piecing but also the flanged binding...love them both.  It is so amazing to see how far reaching this quilt-a-long has gone...your puppies keep popping up everywhere in the cyber world.  Congratulations.

Then Cheryl wrote back to me again....

Further to my email the other day, I want to share my latest project.  Obviously it still needs to be quilted and bound.

As the saying goes... "Go Big or go Home". I wasn't ready to leave your linky party quite yet so went supersized.  The dog block alone measures 38" x 27". Took a lot of math and some stitch ripping (I'm not that great with math) to get this one just right.  Using scraps I had on hand, I pieced this big guy together. If you have any suggestions on how to quilt this guy, I'd love to hear them.

I included my original Dog Gone Cute project using the small pups to give a sense on how big this dog is.

Again, thanks for sharing this awesome pattern. It was fun to make and fun to see how other interpret your pattern as well. Your creativity and talent are awe inspiring.

Thank you so much for sharing your super cute mini quilt and your great big maxi dog quilt top with us Cheryl! Love your fabric choices. And that green flange on the binding frames the cuteness perfectly!

Cheryl is now eligible to join in the upcoming linky party....

Those of you quilting along will be  Dog Gone Cute entry in the linky party that will open on November 3rd and close on November 10th.

Grab the button below and share it on your blog!

Cheryl did a wonderful job! I had thought about making a really big one too, but just the thought of figuring it all out stops me every time :). I'm so glad she persevered, it's really great.
