Let's Bee Social #54

Happy 2015!  And welcome to the first Let's Bee Social for the New Year!

I can hardly wait to see what is new with you in this new year.  Have you started a new project?  Are you busy sewing from your stash?  Are you working on finishing all your old UFO's? Have you started working on any quilt alongs?  Or does everything feel much the same as the week before?

The turning of the year brings to mind the first time my son, Russell stayed up for New Year's Eve.  Round about 12:03 he turned to me and said, "I don't feel any different."

But that isn't the case for me.  I do feel different.  And I have been working on some ideas to change things up here on the Sew Fresh Quilts blog this year.  Hope my friends will be following along and celebrating the whole new year with me!

Do YOU remember last week when I mentioned I was looking for ideas on.... "Something that would help us to connect with each other and get our readers to branch out and discover some new friends.  See some new things.  Get inspired and feel like we are all a little more like family."  And then asked if you had "any ideas?" AND  "Would you like to participate?"

Well.... Lo and behold!
My good friend Terri Ann of Childlike Fascination has been working on just the answer to these questions.  She has just launched a new site - QuiltAlong.net

This new site is all about quilters connecting and sharing!  So far she has added quilt alongs and BOM's to the menu and a linky party page.  But this is just the tip of the iceberg! There is talk of adding quilting bees and swaps to help us all get involved and join in the fun.  Be sure to sign up for her monthly newsletter so you will be kept in the loop on what's coming up and when new things are added to the site.

Still not motivated?  Well..... How about this?

There is a GIVEAWAY for a $25 Fat Quarter Shop Gift Card and a Cotton + Steel Fat Quarter Bundle
Be sure to sign up for the giveaway going on till January 9th, 2015!

Hope you will check out Terri Ann's new QuiltAlong.net site....

Looking forward to meeting up with you there this year!!!!

NOW.... Let's PARTY!!!!  What's new with you?

If you are not sure what Let's Bee Social is all about, you can read the details here.

For those of you who took the time to read and leave such lovely comments on my last post - Quilting With Your Walking Foot..... Thank You!  The response has been overwhelming!  I really enjoyed preparing that post and have been learning a lot from your feedback, as well.

Keep On Quilting On!

You guys make me feel all wamr and fuzzy with all this support (which I need since it's 17°F today.)

My goal for this site to make it a great resource for all sorts of online quilting events. I bet there are a lot of people like me who don't have a close circle of in-real-life quilty friends and that's what makes the online quilting community so wonderful, it's big, friendly and inclusive. A girl can't ask for more! :)

Can we group hug now? Ok awesome!

Thanks for a great year of Let's Bee social last year and I look forward to many more quilting things with this new year. I love the Quilt Along site. I found it on FB and thought that was clever and bonus for us all.

Ok Lorna, I am going to have to go to Blog Anonymous. I have found so many wonderful blogs through your Let's Be Social that it sometimes takes hours to read all the blogs and newsletters. Now you are tempting me again! I hope you know this is in fun. I do however need to star winnowing down as I have started following a lot just through your site. Just shows you how encouraging and gifted you are. Thanks for continuing to Blog my friend. Debbie
