Gone Fishing - Top Complete

After a week of renovating, I finally had a chance to sit down with Janome and get some sewing done.  Ahhhhh!  Saturday night was spent completing the Gone Fishing baby quilt top.

I found two problems with my design for the words and have worked out those issues a little differently than how I ended up piecing the top.  But I am pleased with the results!

Our local fall fair is during the coming week and I am planning on entering Gone Fishing in the un-quilted top division.

Sew Retro, Baby! will be my entry for the baby quilt division.

I also plan to enter a quilt in the full size quilt division.  But I don't know which one.

Please help me!  Which one should I chose????

"Flowers in the Sun"

Or "Oh My, Scrappy Stars"

Sure would appreciate hearing your opinion.

Keep On Quilting On!

Stars are my favorite, but the orange in the other quilt really is an eye catcher. Both are terrific.

I vote for the flowers. It seems more original. That said, I love both!

The orange in the flower quilt definitely gives it a fall feel. I do love the scrappy stars though :).

Hmmm, they are both so fabulous! My past experience makes me think they always like the more detailed the better. So scrappy stars would be my choice, but honestly I love the other one too!

I love both of them, but would choose the flowers - I think it really stands out :-)

Love that little wave treatment you put on the fish quilt. Very cute!

Your scrappy stars is lovely but I really like the flower quilt. Tough decision.

I just didn't know you liked to fish! And you are a great fisherwoman. lol I love Scrappy Stars so much. I just love the play of the colors with one another. The flowers is really pretty but I've been a Scrappy Stars fan from the beginning.

'Oh my, Scrappy Stars' for sure. It's perfect. LOVE 'Gone Fishing', the worm is so darling. Are the waves curve pieced or applique? You are such a busy women....more like super women!

Which one do you feel shows your talents as a quilter in their best light? I would go for the Flowers in the sun, there's something a bit different about it - although I do like the symmetry of the star one. So probably that's not a helpful comment at all! Can you enter both of them, or are you allowed only one full size entry?

I think I would go with Scrappy Stars, although they are both beautiful quilts.

They are both amazing. The orange in the sunny one is really eye-catching though! x

I like them both but I think Flowers in the sun is more unique, I love the colors on it!

I would go for the scrappy stars one myself.

So much work and creativity! Stars is more traditional and flowers is very modern. So you have to try and guess who the judges are, what they went for last year and is their style mod or trad. Me I'd put the modern one in as it is different. Good luck.

All your quilts are beuatiful! But I like the scrappy one the most!
Love from Amsterdam!

I love the two baby ones, really colourful. I'd go with the scrappy stars quilt mainly because I'm a fan of all the colours!

All of your quilts are gorgeous, but Baby! Is my favourite because of the shapes used. I'd go for Flowers in the Sun ♡

Love the fishing quilt! I would enter the flowers in the sun quilt. I think that one is absolutely stunning.

Can't you enter both full sized quilts?! The fish look fabulous and no y seam. Yay!

My favourite is the Flowers in the Sun. The colours are amazing on it!

I love seeing how you finished the "Gone Fishing" top. It's so great.

And it's hard to choose, because both quilts look amazing. I love the bright colors of the flower quilt, but I have a love of star quilts and it really looks spectacular. I'd pick the star quilt.

Thanks for sharing!
