I am PAWS-atively super excited! And the response to my request for participants has been overwhelming! Which is a good thing. Thank you all for wanting to join in the fun - cheerleaders included!
The Quilt Along starts on September 1st. You can find all the details on the Dog Gone Cute page tab just below my blog header. And the Blog Hop begins in October. There will be a linky party in November. So it's certainly not to late to join in the quilt along fun!
This is my second finished Dog Gone Cute project. It's the maxi size version of the pattern.
Finishing at 60" x 60" using 12 of the large size blocks, these little pups were made using Kona Coal for the background. I chose from 12 different fabrics for the pups, and each uses much less than a fat quarter. These large size blocks finish at 18" x 12".
I quilted my fave organic wavy lines with my walking foot using a 3.3 stitch length using a light grey Superior Threads' So Fine! #30 on top and plain white Guetermann polyester thread in the bobbin.
For the backing, I used the absolute last remaining yardage of this sweet print. This is Windy Day in Aqua from the Backyard Baby collection by Patty Sloniger for Michael Miller Fabrics.
The coordinating binding is also from the Backyard Baby collection - Birch Forest. I am in love with the colours and design of that Backyard Baby collection! This same combination was used on my Dog Gone Cute mini quilt and also on my Squirrels in the Park quilt back in May.
This Dog Gone Cute maxi quilt was the 51st use of my 100 labels
ordered from Ikaprint.
Hope you will be joining us for the Quilt Along and Blog Hop! This is going to be so Dog Gone FUN! I have been seeing some sneak peeks showing up on instagram and some of the blog hoppers have been sharing progress posts to their blogs. You will be amazed at their creativity! I am so proud to have them in my kennel! I will be introducing all the blog hop participants in my first post for the quilt along on September 1st.... So be sure to take some time and hop around to their blogs and meet them!
