Lucky Me!

It has been years since I got lucky.  Not complaining.  Just been dealing with it.
But now that has all changed!

Back in August, I noticed that Katie of Swim, Bike, Quilt was challenging the quilting community to assist her in reaching her yearly goal of donating 100 quilts for kids.  I was happy to participate and donated two quilts to my local women's shelter.  You can read more about that here.

Many generous sponsors gave a little extra incentive to those of us who would be participating.  There turned out to be many participants.  And, happily, we exceeded the goal!

Now I have discovered that 24 is my lucky number because, as the 24th person to comment, I won a gift certificate from the lovely Christa of Christa Quilts.  It took me a day to get over the shock - and then I was at Christa's online shop searching for fabric.  What a pleasant experience.  My first time shopping online....ever....for anything!

Christa had my order in the mail tout suite!

And now that it has arrived, I just have to show off my sweet loot!

This is the Meadow Friends layer cake - 42 pieces of 10" squares.

I don't even have a plan for it yet!  Can you believe it?

Ideas are percolating though....

And, as a bonus treat, I received this fabulous fabric panel!  It is the Right Angles quilt panel designed by Angela Walters for Art Gallery Fabrics.

I love the added surprise of getting this modern print panel.

Now I have to decide whether to use it as is, cut it up, use it as a backing, or which? What?

Any suggestions?
