Wolf in the Woods

This is Wolf in the Woods - a modern minimalist design that finishes in either a baby size or double quilt size. This has been a long time coming. I have had a number of requests for a wolf quilt pattern stretching back for quite a while now.

The fabrics are all from stash. The background is from Northcott Fabrics Ambience collection. The birch tree print is the left overs from the backing of the Smitten Kitten quilt - Widescreen Crosshatch in Black. The black, brown and grey are from the Northcott Fabrics Toscanna collection. The turquoise is a new stash addition - Alison Glass Sun Print Link Yonder from Clinton Modern Fabrics.

I used white thread both on top and in the bobbin to quilt those organic wavy lines. But then used black thread for attaching and finishing the binding.

The backing is Woodland Critters in white by Dear Stella Design.

The "Wolf in the Woods" quilt finished at 38" x 48"
and was the 60th use of my 2nd edition of 100 labels
ordered from Ikaprint.

The Wolf in the Woods pattern provides instructions for making the quilt in a baby size 38" x 48" or a double size 76" x 96". And you can find the Wolf in the Woods pattern here.

  18. You've hit a home run with this one, Lorna. For me, the colors give it an erie feeling of being in a winter woods at dusk. Yet the wolf has a bit of a fairy tale look as he's rubbing his paws together, "the better to see/hear/taste you with...". But he's not scary because the face so so calm and ready for a pet, like all canines. Love it! Well done!!!
