I am thoroughly delighted to be sharing the Jungle Baby quilt with you this happy Friday!
Both of those adorable faces make me smile! I know these are not the first giraffe or monkey that I have made. But I can't get over how cute these two look together!
I made some side view giraffe in this Giraffe Love quilt. And then I made some more with this first Giraffe Family quilt and this second Giraffe Family quilt.
I made a quilt with monkeys in Monkey See Monkey Do quilt. The Monkey See Monkey Do quilt is for sale in my shop here.
Then I made another quilt with monkeys in Monkey Business. And it is for sale in my shop here.
Who can resist that face?!!!
This is a small quilt and a quick make. The pattern comes with instructions to make with or without “BABY”. Or you can purchase my Alphabet pattern to personalize.
After coming up with the design idea and writing up the prototype pattern, I hurried off to my sewing room in search of fabrics to use. What did I come across? This adorable backing fabric from Northcott Fabrics that I had completely forgotten about! This is Safari Animals and I purchased it two years ago from Canadian National Fabric.
I added corner tabs for hanging this quilt. All you need to do is drill a hole in the center of a yard stick after cutting it to the correct length. Then you can hang this mini invisibly. I think it would look adorable in a nursery!
The same fabric used for the eyes is used for the binding. And makes a nice strong frame. The background is a Northcott Fabrics that has silver specks, giving it a soft grey appearance.
The quilting was performed using my walking foot to create organic wavy lines with white thread both on top and in the bobbin.
The "Jungle Baby" quilt finished at 34.5" x 34.5"
You can find the Jungle Baby pdf pattern here in my shop.
And there is ONE listing for a quilt kit to make this using the exact same fabric I chose here.
Pretty darned cute!
