Let's Bee Social # 161

Welcome to the Let's Bee Social!

The weather has been really mild this past week or so. Which is nice... But it has also been very gloomy. The sky is hazy and the sun can't make it's way through!

To compensate, this week my sewing room has been overrun with a herd of rainbow reindeer...

I really do consider myself to be "print challenged". And spent most of last year working on overcoming that. But I have to admit... It sure feels good to get back in the "solids saddle" again.

This Santa's Reindeer block is one of the blocks included in the new "Have a Jolly Little Christmasquilt along for 2017I posted the instructions for the first block - Christmas Stockings and I am so excited to see those blocks being tagged on Instagram. The response to this free quilt along has been amazing!!! The free colouring pages have been downloaded over 1700 times!!! I do so hope that means these people are looking forward to quilting along.... And not that they are just big fans of colouring pages. Colouring is fun, but fabric is funner!

Don't forget.... If you are quilting along... There is a never ending linky party here.
So come on and join in the Christmas party!

In the meantime, I have been busily sewing all of my own blocks into table runners and quilts. You can see my first finish of 2017 here. And there will be another coming in a post this Friday!

Then tune in on Saturday for the next set of instructions for the Winter Mittens block!

Now... It's your turn for Show and Tell!!!

  10. I am really enjoying your QAL! The weather should be prefect this weekend for creating some mittens :) I've loved watching your rainbow of reindeer come to life this week...are they magic reindeer? If so, once you have them sewn together the quilt might just fly off :)

  13. And you do solids so well. But it's not just that. Your crisp patterns are just made for solids. Especially any ones with animals, because they show off the eyes (which, in my opinion, show the personalities) so well.

  14. I just love these reindeer Lorna - and the fact they are multi coloured just makes them cuter. I have my Christmas Stocking pattern all ready to make - just got to finalise the fabric!

  23. You have made me smile over and over and over again with each romping rainbow reindeer. Great design, creative, happy, joyful, fun colors. I love each and every one! I made this pillow out of your deer (not reindeer) pattern for my son.

Mine is in realistic colors but if he were a girl I might have been more adventurous in my palette. Did I mention I like yours a lot?!!
