I'm sew excited to be able to share a story about my wings with you today!
This is my Little Dragon wall hanging. It was so much fun to make! I chose to make the smaller version. And backed it with this feather print I made myself on Spoonflower 100 years ago. And I added corner tabs for hanging.
The Little Dragon pattern is now available in my shop here.
The block finishes at 23" x 16" OR 46" or 32", plus border.
Today is the one year anniversary of moving into my new home and life. It has been a challenging year. But I am very, very happy. Thanks to all of my friends for the love and support!!!!

It is quite likely, that I will be at this very moment, facing the ex in our settlement meeting today. Writing this post was perfect timing because, in preparation, I really need to concentrate on channeling my inner little dragon.

Oh wow, I love this dragon. Fabulous project.
ReplyDeleteVery cute dragon. I think we'd all have a little inner dragon inside us. It gives us the little spark we need sometimes.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your year of "freedom" and self growth. It's been a pleasure to watch from the sidelines. And speaking from expeirence, we all need to carry that inner dragon throughout our life's journey. Good luck with the settlement hearing
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun fella. Love your various color choices to show off his wings.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute little dragons. I love the dark outlines on the last one - that must be the bold one! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping the settlement meeting is quick and relatively painless. I'm on the same journey, but mine is just beginning. I like the idea of building myself a quilt to harness the anger.....it'll help.

Look at all of the love and support! I join the group and say you have created a marvelous mascot. I thought of the Disney movie, Mulan, and the tiny dragon who did awesome things even while being scoffed by a few. You have said such amazing things, your affirmations are wonderful. Your color choices and latest pattern are radiant. You are my hero.

ReplyDeleteYour dragon is awesome and I hope your inner dragon has fire and strength today and always.
ReplyDeleteNice, adorable quilt. I hope you are fine with your new life. I had a traumatic childhood - I'll leave it there. Then I married a man who was an alcoholic and I knew nothing about that - I never saw him drunk. He sure had the controlling behaviors. Then he walked out after 23 years. With all that I've suffered with depression for years and I still do. I just started this week seeing a psychiatrist to try to get medications in that arena in better shape. It's a journey. Luckily, my children were 18 and 20, so I didn't have to deal with my ex. He just came back into my life last August and I let him turn it upside down again. There's a reason I have a boundary that the kids and I don't talk about him. I don't even like to go to the side of town where he lives. I don't even want to see any part of him. How can we go from loving someone to this? It's amazing. I haven't pieced a quilt since my second husband died 5 1/2 years ago. Trauma certainly takes a toll on us - whether we let it or not - it happens. We are fighters and it will get better. I tell you this not as a pity party - to tell you there is a hope and a future. You are an amazing, talented, beautiful lady. Chin up and go for it!
ReplyDeleteYour dragon is so beautiful! Enjoy your day! :-) :-) angielovesgary2 atgmail dotcom
