Hedgehog Quilt

On Wednesday I showed you all the quilts I have ready in the lineup for quilting. And today I have this super cutie, cute, cute finish to share!!!!


I put off finishing a few other things when I had the pattern ready for these little Hedgies.

The fabrics for the hedgehog spikes were made with scraps remaining from the Scottie Dogs which were the last thing I worked on before moving. And those were scraps left over from making the Smitten Kitten quilt for Quilt Market in Houston last October. What!!!! Lat October? Has it already been almost a year since that trip?

The Hedgehogs are cute in both sizes - Mamas and Babies! 

The backing and binding fabric has been in my stash since FOREVER! They are from the Snug as a Bug by Melly & Me collection. They match perfectly so they must have been waiting for just the right project to be used.

The little snails????? Adorbs!

and was the 2nd use of my 3rd edition of 100 labels

Let's Bee Social #243

Welcome to the Let's Bee Social!

I've been super busy preparing batting, backing and bindings this past week....

I KEEP SAYING THIS.... This coming week I hope to have my 6 finished Dachshund Dogs rows sashed and have the borders added.... And now you can see how close I am to being ready to quilt it. The backing is such a pretty light blue wideback fabric.

Last week I showed you the Rainbow Paintbrushes.... Which I made in both sizes.

And now I have batting, backing and bindings ready to go for both!

In this post, I showed you my sewing room when I first moved into this new place. Shown in that post was another top I finished before moving here that will also need to be quilted. 


But now my sewing stuff has been relocated - down to the main level dining room - now known as the sewing studio! Yay! I love the wide open room, the hardwood floor and all the space!

These are the new Hedgehogs - my distraction from last week.

All sewed up and ready for quilting also!

Rainbow Paintbrushes

The Rainbow Paintbrushes provides instructions for two sizes - 54" wide x 56" tall or the mini version which finishes at 31" wide x 32" tall.

I sewed up both quilt tops and shared them with Sew Fresh Quilts on Instagram.....

But then I added prints and Wowza!

Last week I completed the dog blocks and this week I made them into mini quilts!


The French Bulldog block provides instructions for two sizes - 11" square or 22" square.

Christmas Sweaters Quilt - Finally a Finish!

There is something very special about your first finish in a new home....

And this one has me thinking about the coming winter season already!


I showed the fabrics in this post, if you're curious about them. This quilt design is reminiscent of the Ugly Christmas Sweaters I made as my first finish of 2016. 



The pieced backing includes the remnants left from bordering the quilt front.
