Today I am sharing some good news. It is finally happening again....

Back in the saddle that is....
It seems I have finally broken through the "quilt block" (something like a writer's block, but for quilter's it's called a quilt block) I was dealing with since we relocated. I was attempting to start from scratch with blank pages of good old graph paper. But there were no ideas forming and the lines on the paper could not come unless they were formed in my mind first. And my mind has been blanked out for a while now. So....

I went back to what I had most recently had success with, the Giraffes in a Row, and analyzed what was it that made this pattern appealing. The rainbow.
So I applied that rainbow theme to a couple of already designed patterns and came up with the Rainbow Crocodiles and Rainbow Lovebirds remakes.

I think it's impossible to look at a rainbow and not feel happy. Once the quilt fog sets in, it can be hard to part the smoke and see again. So glad these bright happy colors helped to clear your quilting skies again <3

ReplyDeleteSuper cute! My 3- and 5-year old grands would love those crocodiles! Glad you persevered - those creative blocks can be kinda scary, wondering if you'll ever have another good idea, but clearly, that's not the case here. :) Sending happy, continuing creative thoughts your way.
