I am so excited by this quilt. I thought there was no way I could make yet another fox quilt design. But this cute character makes me so happy! He's just so fun!
On Tuesday I shared the baby quilt version. But twice as small is twice as cute!
The background is Get Back in Blue from the Hello Love collection for Free Spirit. The quilting was performed using a variegated orange on top and plain white thread in the bobbin. I made this little critter to match the baby quilt using the orange Link fabric by Alison Glass for Andover that I purchased from Clinton Modern Creative. It's a fun modern print that does a fantastic job of reading like a solid. And it was such a beautiful contrast to the background fabric that I found in my stash.
The backing is Out Foxed by Michael Miller Fabrics. It was a new stash addition at the beginning of last year. I used some of this on a Fox among the Birches quilt you can see here.... And I still have enough left for one more quilt. A small quilt.
I used the corner tab method to provide a way to hang this mini. I just fold a square of fabric on the diagonal and sew them into place on the corners before adding the binding. Then all you need is a stick with a hole in it to hang this mini invisibly. Handy and dandy!
This mini and the matching baby quilt were so much fun to make. And quickly finished!
The "Hello Foxy" mini quilt finished at 24" x 24"
and was the 67th use of my 2nd edition of 100 labels
What a wonderful surprise! I was thrilled to see Kathy's version of the Hello Foxy in my Instagram feed and had to repost it. She used grey for her pretty fox and chose pink for the background. Kathy has a long arm quilting business called Legacy Threads, you can find here and you can follow her on Instagram here.
