In commemoration of Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017, Sew Fresh Quilts has hosted the SEW FRESH QUILT BEE as our way of taking part in "Canada's Big Quilt Bee". Our quilt blocks will be made into quilts for donation to the Ronald McDonald House charity.

For more details on the Canadian Quilter's Association Canada-wide Quilting Bee click here. As participants, our hive we will be helping to contribute blocks towards their goal of trying to make 1000 quilts for kids at Ronald McDonald Houses of Canada. I was fortunate to be able to partner with Rita of Fabric Please! for this very worthwhile cause.

The winners of the 3 separate $25 Gift Certificates from Fabric Please are....
And here are the winners, chosen by the Random.org widget!

PS. I have never used a Random.org widget before and wanted to display it in this post, but the widgets kept reverting to blank each time I edited this post....

So you just have to trust me!

And the winner of the Grand Prize including a 6 piece fat quarter bundle of black and white prints, a spool of Aurifil thread and this Chopstix pattern by Jen Houlden of Quilts by Jen is....

And the following prizes are from me!

But Bernie passed on the fabric and opted to chose a digital pattern from my shop instead....
So another winner was drawn....

Let's have a great big round of applause for all of our 25 participants!!!

  1. What wonderful sponsors, and the blocks, slabs and quilts, these are made with so much thought, bright and beautiful, and I think of the little ones who will benefit so very much, a great effort by everyone involved in whatever way.

  2. Thanks, Lorna, for encouraging all of us to participate in the big quilt bee. People from far and wide have been sewing up their scraps and it looks like the CQA will meet and probably exceed their goal of 1000 quilts. Well done, everyone!

  5. Thanks Lorna: I had forgotten about the prizes so this is a nice surprise. Mine is a shared prize with my buddies so I'm sure whatever we choose will go into another charity quilt! We'll be at Quilt Canada also so it will be fun to see all the wonderful quilts.
