Do you ever make the same quilt more than once? I know there are so many great quilt ideas out there. And some people claim that they enjoy a new challenge, so they would never consider making the same quilt more than once. I used to be one of those quilters.
This is the Fox & Friends equilateral triangle quilt. And this version is the 5th time I have made this quilt. Yes. Five times and still enjoying it!
The last time I made this quilt, I chose to make it using a green background. Please click here to read that post, where I explained the mistake I made. Of course, I did not even realize I had made a mistake until uploading the photos for the post and sharing this photo mosaic of all the Fox & Friends quilts together. One of these things doesn't look like the others.....
For my 5th Fox & friends, I reverted back to the blue background, but this time I chose a new batch of Kona Cotton Solids. For this quilt, I used Robin Egg, Bahama Blue, Peacock, Alegria and Ocean for the background, and School Bus, Snow, Black and Medium Grey for the foxes and raccoons.
Can you see that? No wavy line quilting... I enjoyed quilting along both sides of each seam line for this quilt. I just adore the wee stars that are formed at the intersections! The quilting was done using Light Grey Omni from Superior Threads, both on top and in the bobbin.
This one has Architextures in Grey for the backing. And although I had thought about using one of the blues for the binding, I decided to go with the black to provide a strong frame for the quilt.
This "Fox & Friends" quilt finished at 39" x 45"
and was the 22rd use of my 2nd edition of 100 labels
ordered from Ikaprint.

Lovely collection of same design quilts. I wouldn't call it a mistake...
ReplyDeleteJust a slight alteration in the placings, and I would still give it top marks, in fact, I really like the green.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, i like the Fox & Friends :-)
ReplyDeleteOnly because you mentioned it - did I start to look at what could be different. Ha, ha - no mistake - it looks like it was on purpose. Just switched up the rows a bit. This quilt is so cute no matter how many times you make it or in which colors. Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love how echoing the seam lines creates a fun little star at the seam intersection points.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!! Your creations are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI would never have spotted the mistake, and I love the green background. x
ReplyDeleteI love this version of this quilt!! Beautiful colours!!
ReplyDeleteI need to make this- I bought the pattern when you launched it, now tell me why I haven't gotten 'round to sewing it up... Shaking my head. SO CUTE, just love your quilts. Honestly I think the green one is just fine. <3 xo
ReplyDeleteI think they're all really cute - I love that you like it so much you've made five!!
ReplyDeleteEven after reading the mistake post I still don't see it:). I have made only 2 quilts twice and the first was the Dog Gone Cute one. I gave them both away so there is still a chance for my very first 3rd making of the same quilt. I really want one for myself! I just love your patterns...still hoping for a book some day.
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern. I've only made it once...so far. I have made several patterns more than once -- it depends on the pattern.
