These little mini mini creations are addicting!!!
On Tuesday I told you about the fantastic #MMminimini challenge hosted by Make Modern Magazine. You can read all about the details here. The challenge runs until June 20th.
I had so much fun making the first wee little mini mini quilt.
And now I think I'm hooked!
This Raccoon mini mini quilt was quilted in organic wavy lines. And finished my binding by machine. This time I remembered to add some corner tabs on the back for hanging. But could not find any Popsicle sticks to show you how they would be perfect for placing in the tabs.
There was also a My Pet Hamster block in the works!
It's becoming more and more apparent that I am a very slow learner. The black eyes for both of these blocks are not doing a thing for me. Contrast, contrast, contrast! Maybe I will listen for next time. Maybe not. For this mini mini quilt I did some random straight lines. After quilting, I trimmed them down and they each measure exactly 6" square when finished.
Have you ever made a mini mini quilt?
I love how Mr Raccoon pops on that red background. Such sweet little minis. I can't wait to make some this weekend. So much cuteness in a tiny block!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute hampster. I haven't made a mini pieced quilt because I do not have the patience for tiny piecing. Maybe it is the old eyes? These are really cute and I think they are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove both the raccoon and the hamster. Have not tried making one but you may have inspired me. If only there was more hours in a day lol.
ReplyDeleteOh Lorna, your tiny quilties are so cute
ReplyDeleteI love everything you make. I am busy all the time with the old folkses or my grand baby, so I am indeed sewing but gosh, aaak
I want to make the birdies and the hamster and the racoon. They are sooo cute

Thanks
nicely done!
ReplyDeleteTime to eat some popsicles so you have some sticks! And have you tried going around the eyes with grey thread? It would make the eyes stand out just enough.
ReplyDeleteThat raccoon is darn adorable! I haven't made a mini mini in a few months. I think I need to jump on this bandwagon.
ReplyDeleteI swear you come up with the most adorable stuff! My EQ7 is coming this weekend and I can't wait to design my own unique blocks!
