Today I'm sharing a really fun project....
This Santa Runner only took one day to make. Including the choosing of fabric. Which is the hardest part for me, unless of course, if I'm sticking to solids.
This fun little runner was made using Riley Blake's Apple of My Eye Stripe in red for Santa's rosy cheeks. And Crystal Palace by Whimsies & Wishes for Studioe Fabrics was used for his beard, eyebrows and the trim on his hat.
Santa's belt and buckles make up the outer border and were cut from Black Tweed Dot and Yellow Tweed Dot from the Bear Essentials 2 collection by P&B Textiles.
Animal Alphabet Flash Cards in light grey by Red Rooster Fabrics was used for the background. And the same print in red was used for the Santa hats and noses, as well as for the backing.
I quilted this runner with my walking foot in organic wavy lines across the width using Superior Threads' So Fine in grey on top and in the bobbin.
This came together quickly and is a great pattern for using up some of your small scraps!
"Santa Runner" finished at approximately 11" x 38"
and was the 63rd use of my 100 labels
and was the 63rd use of my 100 labels
ordered from Ikaprint.

I can here the " Ho.Ho.Ho" down here, lovely choice of fabrics and those wavy lines a perfect finish.
ReplyDeleteThis is really fun. The part that takes the longest for me is the cutting, I really don't enjoy it at all as I worry about getting it all perfect. I love choosing the fabrics and hand sewing on the binding the most. x

Such a cute runner. At first I didn't see the santa's, I thought it was a modern geometric runner, I think it would work that way with different colors, great pattern. I love the wavy quilting.
ReplyDeleteJust adorable! Who wouldn't love this on a Christmas table or maybe the Santas could both be going the same direction for a wall hanging :)
ReplyDeleteI love your fabric choices! I bought this pattern a while back, so I need to get my rear in gear and get it made! :)
