This remake of the Ohio Stars was made using solids from the ColorWorks collection by Northcott Fabrics. As soon as the binding was on....
And I had taken the time for a quick coffee break....
I headed outside to the old hay wagon for a little winter photoshoot.
I could not help but to include the bush and other trees along the fence line in this shot. The stark contrast of leafless trees and the bare boards of the wagon certainly make this little quilt seem all the brighter.
These fabrics are rich and vibrant.... Especially against that newly fallen snow.
I chose the colours for the top to match the cute flannel backing fabric. It is from the Holiday Hoot collection by Deborah Edwards for Northcott Fabrics. That Cuddle Comfort flannel is so smooth and soft. And it quilted like a dream.
Keeping it simple, Aunt Elna performed the straightline quilting on each side of all the patchwork seam lines. I just love the pretty lattice look on the back of the quilt.
This quilt finish was the 19th use of my 100 labels ordered from
You can design your own labels, too! Click here! |
The Ohio Stars, which finished at approximately 51" x 51" and is suitable as a baby quilt or nice sized lap quilt, is now for sale in my Etsy shop. The Ohio Stars pattern is available from both my PayHip pattern store here and my little Etsy shop here!
Time to head back inside and put another log on the fire.
Gotta keep warm on the farm!
But WAIT! Northcott Fabrics has kindly offered to do a GIVEAWAY!
Visit the Northcott Fabrics website to see all the gorgeous lines of fabrics they manufacture. And to keep up with all the new lines coming soon!
Artisan Spirit Sandscapes and Shimmer, with all that luscious texture and shine.
The ColorWorks collection. These solids are vibrant.
Toscana reads like a solid, but offers a smother look with softer shades.

ReplyDeleteArtisan Spirit Sandscapes Precuts - Atmosphere- Lagoon
ReplyDeleteBoy I am a little late to this party! I just wanted to say how envious I am of your snow. How could one fail to take such a stunning shot of this quilt? I know I know , snow is great when you do not have to live in it. :-) Down here in Australia we have red desert soil but that is found a few hundred kilometers from me. I will have to traipse some quilts to the shore and see whether I can come up to scratch in the photo stakes. Lovely to see this quilt up and working it hard for you.
