My name is Lorna McMahon - a proud Canadian Quilting Blogger!
I live on a 50 acre farm in rural Ontario. It's beautiful country, but secluded and isolated.
You can read more about me and my world here.
But thanks to the internet and quilt blogging, I have made many wonderful and treasured friends from all over the world. These friends cheer me up and cheer me on. They are my inspiration and.......
I can't imagine my life now without the support of the online quilting community!
My quilting journey began when I designed this quilt - Krazy Katz - for my daughter, Erin.
Since then it has been a non-stop whirlwind of fabric, friends, design, thread, blogging and batting. Oh. And coffee. I like coffee.
Things have changed. But my love of quilting and my list of friends just keeps on growing!
I started out with my Little Janome 2030QDC. He's a great little machine, but very limited on throat space with only 6.5" between needle and base. However, pair him up with some of Superior Threads' Fantastico thread and a Topstitch needle, and he is the master of free motion quilting.

Aunt Elna |
This January, I purchased an Elna Excellence 760. Affectionately known as Aunt Elna, this machine was a worthy investment. She offers 11" from needle to the body and has reduced my frustration when quilting large quilts. With all that space, she is a fine machine for spiral quilting, but as the queen of the walking foot, she really enjoys performing this organic wavy line quilting.

Christmas Place Mats |
There have been a lot of quilts made on these two machines. Please take a look at my quilt gallery found under my banner at the top of the blog. Here all my quilts are pictured, with links to the posts for each quilt I have made. Many of these designs are offered as PDF patterns for sale in my Etsy shop.
