Wild Life - A Finished Top!

Lions and tigers and BEARS!  Oh, DEER!

This top, made from Kona cotton solids, was such a fun project to design and make.  Although I was originally going to go for a blue background, the Sprout, Lime and Peridot greens won out.  But I think pink would have been cute, too!

This little top finished at approximately 42” x 54” - the perfect size for baby or toddler.

Wanting to pick something special for the backing, I searched online and found these two cute prints from Fabric Spot.  What great service... Ordered on the holiday Monday (Canada Thanksgiving) - they were delivered on Wednesday!  And I love them!

For the backing, from the Forest Friends collection designed by Ingrid Slyder for Moda - Forest Friends Toss in Pebble.  And for the binding - Forest Friends Birch Trees also in Pebble.

Those little critters are absolutely adorable!  As you know... I have a fondness for foxes.  But those brown bears, grey raccoons and green leaves coordinate beautifully with the Wild Life top.  And I can hardly wait to see how the birch tree print will look as the binding.

Just have to get this basted and decide how to quilt it.....

  4. That is just beautiful. I know who ever receives that is going to just love it. I have some of the Forest Friends fabric and love it. I have been looking for something to use it with. We don't have a ''little" in our family any more, but I am sure I can find something to use these fabrics.

  14. PS: Are the ears inners appliqued? Love when designers use some applique in their patterns.
