What are some of my fave Superior Threads products? I could not live without my..........
Magnifico, Fantastico and the Titanium-Coated Topstitch Needles
Because these titanium-coated needles have an ultra thin coat of titanium nitride, they will stay sharper longer and outlast any current Topstitch needle on the market.
Fantastico is a pleasure to free motion quilt with. This is a close up of my Fox Kits quilt. The tree was quilted in a wood grain pattern. And Fantastico helped to bring the leaves to life!
Magnifico is another favourite of mine. I used these to quilt my Modern Charm quilt.
This spiraled and echoed quilting was performed using the walking foot.

My favorite thread really depends on what I am doing. I do like Aurifil, but it isn't readily available for color matching to my quilts locally, so I tend to prefer Mettler at the moment. Again, mostly due to local availability more than anything else! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the info on Superior Threads. I will definitely order this thread the next go-around.
ReplyDeleteI have lots of different kinds. For my hand sewing, hexies and needleturn I love silk thread 100 wt
ReplyDeleteGreat threads. I'd love to have more at home -- thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI am just starting to quilt and have just used Coats & Clark thread.
ReplyDeleteI most often use Essential Cotton thread from Connecting Threads, but also some Aurifil. I have never tried Superior threads, but I would love to try!
ReplyDeleteI like king tut thread
ReplyDeleteMagnifico is definitely my favorite thread. But that's because it's the only Superior thread I've tried. So thanks for the recommendation on Fantastico! And thanks, as always, for your inspiring blog!
ReplyDeleteI love king tut.
ReplyDeleteFor piecing it's Masterpiece 50 wt. Great price and works beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI like Masterpiece, King Tut & Bottom Line.
ReplyDeleteI like to use superior monofilament thread for stitching on the ditch, but would love to try the newer threads soon.
ReplyDeleteI love Superior Threads! Love their King Tut, So Fine, Bottom Line, metallics...only thread I use for quilting!

ReplyDeleteMy local quilt shop has closed and Gutermann is what is available to me.

ReplyDeleteI love their king tut and bottom line threads. Thanks for the chance
ReplyDeleteRight now I use Presencia. I would love to try superior threads

ReplyDeleteMy favorite threads are from Connecting Threads. I haven't used Superior threads. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI like Fantastico thread. I've tried others. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the omni thread for quilting.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I mostly use Guttermann thread, because it's the most available thread to me and I've never had issues with it. I like Aurifil when I use it, but I can't colour match it because no one nearby sells it and I do hate buying based on a guess. I'm interested to try Superior Threads some day because I know a lot of quilters who really love it. And their needles... my sewing machine says I need specialty needles of a type that Superior doesn't make, but then I've heard a lot of bloggers with the same machine who say they swear by their needles and that they function in a similar way to the specialty ones, so I dunno.
ReplyDeleteI have one spool of Superior thread and could use more. I need to try the needles too! Everyone's talking about them!
ReplyDeleteWould love to know what needles quilters like to use for hand stitching.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on bloglovin.
ReplyDeleteMasterpiece.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the Fantastico used on your wood grain quilting. It's incredible looking!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite thread. I have been trying to find something that works well with my machine for piecing and is available locally. Nothing has seemed to fit the bill yet. Would love to try this out!
ReplyDeleteSandy A
I'm not experienced enough to use so many threads. I like Mettler but usually use Gueterman because it's readily available here. dollartistcarla at aol dot com

ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite thread, as I am new to sewing. I would love to try Superior Threads.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the project, but I usually piece with Aurifil and quilt with a Superior thread.
ReplyDeleteOh how I need this! Seems I am always running out of my 'go to' threads! I wish I had a favortie thread, but I don't! I usually use Gutermann. I do have some Arifil and Superior that are a close second!
ReplyDeleteI currently use Aurifil thread, but I'd love to try Superior threads for piecing and quilting! Thanks for the chance ~ fingers crossed!!

ReplyDeleteI use a lot of King Tut, because that is what is available to me locally for my long arm. I have used several Superior Threads and had good results with them too!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a favorite thread that came with the sewing machine I bought years ago; but, it is no longer being sold. I am now shopping around for 100% cotton threads and let me tell you, it isn't easy picking a favorite from the variety of sources out there!
ReplyDeleteI usually use Aurifil, but I would like to try Superior Threads. I have heard good things about it.

ReplyDeleteJust started working with Signature and Superior, but my fav at the moment is Sulky Blendables, both my machines work well with it.
ReplyDeleteI use Aurifil and Superior Threads exclusively for quilting. Both are wonderful and give a lint-free result. I love a nice even stitch with a flat thin line for piecing. Aurifil 50 and Masterpiece are the best.
ReplyDeleteI'm using Aurifil so far and would love to give Superior Threads a try. The options kind of boggle the mind.
ReplyDeleteI use Coats & Clark because it's all I have access to where I live. I won some Aurifil which I have not tried yet, 2 small spools. I know thread is so important in quilt making and I'm ready to branch out to the "good stuff"....
ReplyDeleteI love their metallic thread and the King Tut variegated. So nice to work with.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thread for quilting is King Tut. I love the colors and it produces less lint to clog up my machine.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite thread yet, being a relatively new quilter. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI really don't have a favorite thread, but I have some I don't like.
ReplyDeleteI do not have a favorite yet. My old machine was so particular that once I found that it behaved best with my locally sourced Gutterman I stuck with it. Now that I have a new machine I am counting down my current collection of spools before I splurge on some of the stuff others rage about. I'd love to test out some Superior. Your pieces look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite thread either. I haven't really sewn enough yet to tell much difference.
ReplyDeleteI love MasterPiece thread! I use different types of threads for quilting, but I only piece with MasterPiece.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Highlights line, but it is gone now. I've just recently tried Fantastico and it is great to work with too.
