It's a Festive Friday Christmas post!

For the whole month of August I have been making Christmas creations using my new Boxes-N-Bows block design.  First there were these two table runners using the new Holiday Cheer collection by Jan Shade Beach for Henry Glass Fabrics.  I really loved the soft and festive colours in this collection.

Then I purchased more of last year's Holiday Frost, by the same designer, and started on two projects at the same time, where I blogged about my progress in this post.  Using a more traditional colour scheme, this line uses a rich red along with shades of grey.

My first finish for today is a set of six quilted Holiday place mats.

Each place mat measures 12" x 17.5" finished size.
And includes applique ornaments.  With organic wavy quilting....

And binding in Holiday Sparkle by Nina Seven for Wilmington prints.

The backing is from the Essentials 108" Backing - Dotty Waves - collection for Wilmington Prints and was made from the remainder of my wideback fabric first used on my second finish for today....


A quilted Christmas Tree Skirt.

This finished skirt measures 47.5" from edge to edge and 56" from corner to corner.

I used ribbon loops, sewn into the binding, and large red buttons for closures.

For the most part, I echo quilted parallel to the seams.  And then free motion quilted (FMQ) the background around the boxes, using White Magnifico thread by Superior Threads.  This project was my first FMQ done in six months since getting my new Elna.  She's not a FMQ kind of gal, so I got reacquainted with my little Janome with this project!

These seven finishes bring my quilt label total down to 90 remaining.
