Following my Friday finish posts, I am usually well on my way with my next project by now... I have not even decided what to work on this week! But I did drop in to buy these new Christmas themed fat quarters by Henry Glass Fabrics. These are Holiday Cheer by Jan Shade Beach.
I think it's perfectly normal to be thinking of Christmas in July. Don't you?
But now... What to make? Table runner? Christmas stocking? Throw quilt?
Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions!
NOW.... What's new with you?

Ooooo...me like! Wow, what does one make? The pieces need to be large enough to appreciate these fabrics. Maybe a simple triangle quilt. Throw in some solids!
ReplyDeleteChristmas in July - I'm impressed, but then I'm one of those people who can't imagine Christmas is coming until December hits (you think I would have learned by now). These are quite subtle and very pretty - table runner would be my pick of your suggestions, but I have no genius idea of my own to contribute.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely but no idea. I don't have many home decor things besides cushions :)
ReplyDeleteI have plans for a Christmas table runner and mats to match but maybe for 2015 or 2016
ReplyDeleteHi Lorna! Beautiful Fabrics! I thought also that there should be bigger pieces to show the prints - quilt or table runner. x Teje
ReplyDeleteLOL, I just got through making a Christmas quilt from a jellyroll I had on hand. (I guess I was thinking Christmas in July too) I just wanted to do some mindless straight stitching (my therapy)... Your fabric is much brighter than mine....love it.
ReplyDeleteLoving the sleds on this fabric! Well lets see what do you NEED to make, I am looking to make a new tree skirt this year since I will be changing the room I am putting the tree in. Christmas in July, Im not ready but do love the fabrics. Thanks for a peek
ReplyDeleteI love those, I vote for table runner or super cute wall hanging
ReplyDeleteI have no inspiration for those fabrics but I'm sure you'll come up with something fab :-)
ReplyDeleteI think that these pretty fabrics would make a gorgeous table runner. Hope you have fun making something for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWe have had the polar plunge this week here in Western PA and since it feels like mid October ( not complaining..it's a nice break ) sure, Christmas fabrics make sense to me! :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice fabric, wall hanging and some cushions for the sofa!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics and a table runner out of them would be neat!! It has been busy here this summer too :)
ReplyDeleteThe fabric you've bought is beautiful! Hadn't seen it yet. Can't wait to see what you'll make!
ReplyDeleteHi Lorna! What a delightful combination of colors in the Henry Glass fabrics: Lime, Aqua, Silvery Grey and Bright Red - they look great together! A table runner sounds wonderful. What if you made a large tote? You could use it while Christmas shopping, running holiday errands, or to hold rolls of Christmas wrapping papers.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely thinking about Christmas right now. If I could only motivate myself to get the hand work done, I might have a Christmas quilt this year. Those fabrics are beautiful. I can't wait to see what you make.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable! It is hard to think about Christmas...but I do know it will be here sooner than I think, want or can handle!
ReplyDeleteI think this fabric would make awesome pillows! Or a table runner, quilt, bag, placemats....anything!!!
Hi Lorna! Love those Christmas fabrics. I think a wall hanging or a table runner would be great in those!
ReplyDeleteIf I had the time and fabric, I would make a tree skirt. But I do love runners!
ReplyDeleteI have such a weakness for Christmas fabrics... but I've sworn off buying ANY more until my stash is depleted from last year's post-Christmas sales. I often work on Christmas projects in the summer though.. nothing wrong with being prepared (says the Girl Guide!)
ReplyDeleteThose swatches make me think mug rug for hot cocoa on a chilly day, though it's in the 90's here right now. very adorable!
ReplyDeleteI don't usually like Christmas fabrics but these are very lovely. They would make great pillow covers or a table runner.
ReplyDeleteThose are really nice Christmas fabrics. Will be fun to see what you do with them. :)
ReplyDeleteOK, since Lisa J admitted it, I'll admit it too. I don't usually like Christmas fabrics. . . but these, OH MY! I vote for a throw size quilt - how could you get enough of them??? Cuddly minkee or fleece backing. . . you can send it to me when you are finished ;D
ReplyDeleteAI would make a throw with these fabrics. I like the muted colors with little pops of bright color.
