I like "simple" too, but I like to invest my energy in this type of detail to enhance the "simple" design. I believe confidence is important in quilting - it encourages innovation and compels us to try new things. Sure we may make a few mistakes along the way, but when we are done we will have learned so much more than if we had gone with the safe option.

That being said I'm not saying you shouldn't keep it simple and do what you want. I am just pointing out that your confidence produced a beautiful quilt, a wonderful pattern, and I'm sure you learned a lot through the process.

Keep going you are a wonderful quilter and person!Elise Leahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09438500821288052061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6222010192421604268.post-45185054634509395772013-11-08T18:08:07.798-05:002013-11-08T18:08:07.798-05:00Well said, KYSS can make you a happier quilter. Yo...Well said, KYSS can make you a happier quilter. You like to feel happy when your done, but every now and then you gotta jump out there and try something crazy:) Fine line. I want to perfect more of what I do now...like taking time to pin and starch, ripping things out when they are not right(sometimes) and all those things I used to skip! Will be fun to follow along.Paula@TheSassyQuilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07480947182666007928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6222010192421604268.post-29446476082191087322013-11-06T18:30:24.810-05:002013-11-06T18:30:24.810-05:00So many areas in need of improvement and so little...So many areas in need of improvement and so little time!Jessica Haddenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02875796857031179101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6222010192421604268.post-76424818409138246872013-11-05T20:35:49.069-05:002013-11-05T20:35:49.069-05:00Cute piece Lorna :DCute piece Lorna :DChris Dodsley @made by ChrissieDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07850681754516767449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6222010192421604268.post-6481498245764439132013-11-05T20:18:42.581-05:002013-11-05T20:18:42.581-05:00Lorna, I've soooo glad we have become blogging...Lorna, I've soooo glad we have become blogging friends. It's sometimes hard to translate those ideas to paper and then to quilts.

Intuition is your best tool. If the piece doesn't speak to you, then it's probably not going to speak to someone else. So go with your gut! :)

Like the previous poster said, no one makes perfect quilts! But we can learn from our mistakes and do better on the next quilt! :) Lindsey https://www.blogger.com/profile/06612256564151969987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6222010192421604268.post-33885442979406355042013-11-04T18:02:51.301-05:002013-11-04T18:02:51.301-05:00Hmm, I think this is what keeps us interested in q...Hmm, I think this is what keeps us interested in quilting. We never really get to the point that we say, "Ah ha! I've arrived. A perfect quilt."

But hopefully we do get better, in large part because of this type of self-assessment.

It's still cute though. I particularly enjoy the worm. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6222010192421604268.post-35972325718233122502013-11-04T13:25:28.393-05:002013-11-04T13:25:28.393-05:00Wow, what an adorable and creative quilt.
