Taking the Kona Challenge

I am so excited!  Today my tutorial for this Flowering Table Runner is being featured on the Sew Sisters Quilt Shop blog!

Flowering Table Runner - 12" x 58"

When offered the opportunity to take the Kona Club Challenge with Sew Sisters Quilt Shop, I was more than happy to oblige.  I do love me some solids.  And who can resist this pretty combination?

This was the April 2014 Kona Club bundle.  They sent me a fat quarter bundle of these luscious beauties: Carrot, Cactus, Buttercup and Eggshell.  Such fresh and spring like colours - they reminded me of flowers.  Spring colours for sewing while it's snowing!

This Flowering Table Runner features a flower block with easy hst
pinwheels and simple leaves.  Wouldn't this look fabulous done up in some rich reds  - Christmas colours during some summer sewing?

Did I mention there is a giveaway?
And you might want to check out all their other featured tutorials here.  Just sayin'.

This project was a great opportunity to use one of my favourite binding methods.  I wrote a Flanged Binding tutorial which was shared here on the Sew Fresh Quilts blog and can now be found on my tutorials page here.

Keep On Quilting On!

  8. That's super cool! And I enjoyed how your tutorial was mostly computer images for the steps. As much as I like seeing photographs, sometimes they don't quite get the point across. And yes, it would look beautiful in some rich reds for Christmas-time.

  9. Beautiful table runner! The snow makes a very nice white backdrop for your picture. My 7 year old son would love it if you sent some snow down for him in South Carolina :)
